We are at one of our favourite gold mining sites in New Zealand and we hit it big again! New floods had exposed more Bedrock and with the bedrock came more Gold Nuggets, a mixture of panning, metal detecting and crevicing yieled one of our better hauls to date!
I hope you enjoy this trip and thanks for watching!

Cheers guys! Yeah thought we would do it for this video as it’s such a long one. Yeah it’s definitely handy to have especially when walking hours up big streams, and not down playing his experience at all it was definitely a full on one, we have had a couple far more dangerous situations again, caught up in flash floods and we’re glad we had it there to bunk out if it got super bad (which it did but we took the risk instead) the reason we don’t have footage for one of them is the water was so bad it destroyed my water resistant phone through my waterproof jacket so couldn’t salvage the footage. Even then we didn’t use the Epirb but if it go any worse and got stuck up there like Chris may have it would have been a saviour. It’s very handy to have. Cheers

Thanks heaps bro. DredgeNZ would be your best place to go here in NZ they have all your prospecting gear, if you put “The Sluicers” in your order notes in the checkout as well they will send you a bonus sample vial. But yeah DredgeNZ is probably your best bet here in Nz, you can also get some gear from most local outdoor shops

Awesome vid. Subscribed. You need to get some long nose tweezers to pull those little nuggies out easier. Are you allowed to use bait pumps in nz to clean out those deep crevices better. Keep up the good work. ✌👌

Thanks so much bro! Yeah tweezers would really help, hopefully we have some for next trip! At this location sadly not, you need a permit (a very pricy strict one) to use anything motorised sadly.

How do you like the equinox 800 for small gold
@TheSluicers
@TheSluicers Жыл бұрын
I really like it, used to hate it but it’s just because it had a lot more of a learning curve then the monster, it does just as well if not better then the monster, their sensitivity is the same but the equinox had clearer targets and doesn’t make noise when bumped like the monster

Hi there, no worries happy to answer any questions. The go find 22/44 series are really kids toys sadly and outside of playgrounds and beaches aren’t much use. If it’s for just treasure hunting and not for gold nuggets I would suggest a Vanquish340/440/540 or a Nokta Makro Lefend, if it’s for gold nuggets as well an Equinox900 or 800 would be your best bet. Cheers

If you see the length of ANY youtube video, you can see people aim for the shortest timed videos first. So as a piece of advice, cut the action into under 30 minutes and you will have a ton of more viewers.
@TheSluicers
@TheSluicers Жыл бұрын
That seems to be the case with some videos but I’ll be honest this longer one and our other longer videos have been some of our most successful ever, as the watch time is longer so KZfaq then suggests it more.

@@TheSluicers I do hate to longer ones. You can tell like in cooking recipes. They just babble for longer screen time yet they don't know they're ruining their chances of being watched.

Don't speak to your audience as if they have never done it before and all new. Yes anybody new is going to be watching all the videos but your audience is probably 90% experienced. What we watch them for is so see what others get and where, talk about why you decided to test a spot and show the situation. Sure say I like this tool or that and find it very useful. What I picked up on was you refer to small things as wee things, witch would suggest Scottish ancestry or a Scottish population where your from?
@TheSluicers
@TheSluicers Жыл бұрын
You have a point however after running this channel for years, meeting up with dozens of followers reading tens of thousands of comments and looking at all the analytics I think you will find it’s the opposite and 90% of viewers watching have little-no real prospecting experience. I like to try do them in a way that’s enjoyable for everyone. I have a bit of Scottish ancestry and quite a bit of Irish ancestry, but mostly just would consider ourselves Kiwis.

He’s from New Zealand and we call little things WEE! He’s doing a brilliant job. I have no idea how to find Gold, what to take and what to do! This was really helpful. How do people learn if you do not teach them. Not everyone has experience and that is why I watched this video. Maybe you shouldn’t be so critical and act like you know it all! If you did you would know this kid is from New Zealand and we call things WEE here because we are from Scottish decent! !!!!! Good job on the video mate it was really helpful for me thank you ❤
