Amazing Grace 3D carved hymn using the

Another Xmas present made out of poplar. 1/4 down cut end mill for material removal and profile cut at the end. For the 3D cut I used a 1/8 ball nose. For the wording and music notes I used a 60 degree vbit. Then I finished with tung oil, enjoy!
This project is far from perfect as some lettering were not clear and I may have been a bit aggressive on the sanding. Either way I am pleased with the outcome and I have learned alot.
I wanted to give thanks to the gentleman that put the file up on a CNC group on FB. This was not my design, not sure if it was his, but he did share the file. Thanks again!

If I remember correctly, this file was available on the file section of a FB group. Unfortunately I follow quite a few groups so I can’t specifically say which. I really appreciate the kind words!

What’s the secret? I’ve tried shellac but I still get bleed through into the wood. Even after sanding the wood turns black, the paint is dry, shellac is dry. Nice work btw.

Yea it can be difficult. I also get bleeding even after using shellac or lacquer. I really can’t say for sure but I do sometimes do a deeper depth of cut so it allows me to sand more material, which allows me to get most of the bleeding

@Mr.Peabody961 it’s tough to say. If I’m carving a file I bought from Etsy or got from FB I pretty much leave it alone. But if I’m making something from scratch I always go through the list to see what works. I also browse dafont.com and see what looks cool.
