This is my fingerstyle guitar arrangement of Amazing Grace the timeless hymn that has impacted so many over the years. I included some scripture to share the truth of God's Word. I have guitar tab for this song here: www.joshsnodgrass.com/tab/hym...
If you are new to my channel, my name is Josh Snodgrass and I'm the guy playing the guitar. I present this music as a form of worship with the hope that you will be encouraged to go deeper in your walk with God. Jesus Christ is the Messiah who came to offer the world the hope of forgiveness for our sins and new life in him. He's the Son of God and he came to earth and took on human flesh, living as one of us. He didn't sin at all, and He is completely perfect. Because of His perfection, He was worthy to give His life on the cross as a sacrifice for the rest of us who have fallen short. He rose again in victory over sin and death and came back to life on the 3rd day. When we repent from our sins and turn to follow Jesus as Lord and Savior in faith, we will be completely forgiven by God for all of our sins. He offers us a complete pardon, trading his record for ours. He takes our sin and offers us His righteousness. Place your faith in Jesus and follow Him as He directs you through the Bible and the Holy Spirit.

God is incredible, even when we are low His faithfulness for us is overflowing. He encourages us as our closest friend when everyone seems to leave. He protects us when we seem to damage ourselves to the max and He saved us though we didn’t deserve it. But oh how He loves us! Let that be a blessing we all dwell on always 🩷✨🙏✝️

We are working on it! I am trying to decide between doing a tab on the screen lesson like a few of my other videos or just a video where I explain and show how to play it. We have both versions in the works right now. Do you have a thought on that?

@@JoshSnodgrass Yes. You could do one or the other. But I personally like to hear somebody explaining what they are doing while they are playing a song. It’s a little more personal. Or you could do both! Have the tab on the screen and talk your way through the song referring to the tab.

@@rickraub5448 Thanks for the input! My most popular videos on my lessons channel are the scrolling tab videos but those were kind of a pain to make. My son edited a video lesson where I describe how to play Amazing Grace but it would be best when accompanied by the tab download. We'll see what happens as we go along and I'll try to improve these videos without getting burned out on them.

What tuning is this? Lovely - I play your music on a small BT speaker while hiking several times a week. Ppl always compliment it when they hear it! I play fingerstyle also and just wondered about your tunings.

Hi Rebecca, This is "Open C" tuning which is CGCGCE. I have never used it before this song. Normally I play with the guitar tuned to standard tuning but down a step (so it's actually DGCFAD). Then I put a drop a drop D capo on the second fret.

@@JoshSnodgrass thanks for your reply! Why not just use Drop D tuning without the capo? Would be the same key. I play a lot in this tuning. Fortunately I get to listen to your music without ads as I subscribe to YT. Allows me to download your music too which I need on the trails where signals get lost.

@@rebeccamullerrejoicemusic Good question. I could do that but I don't like what it does to my G chord bass note. I really don't like having to reach up to the 5th fret to get that. Also, playing worship music, I don't play a lot of Em. When I do I sometimes reach back around the capo for the bass note or just play the bass an octave up. I guess it's all about picking what bass notes you want as open strings and how far you want to reach to get the other ones. :)

Hi Richard, Good question. I like this guitar because it has great resonance. There are some songs that I prefer the way it sounds compared to my other options.
