1 tip on the cleaning of the spatula, if you just sit them flat on the griddle for like 20 seconds, anything on them starts to sizzle and would've killed any bacteria. Good job on cooking, looks good

After looking at numerous hibachi recipes, loved the no nonsense easy instructions on this so decided to give it a try to celebrate my granddaughters birthday. It could not have turned out better, everyone was raving about it and I had a great time cooking it. For my meats I cooked chicken and steak and used the hibachi glaze. I got a little heavy handed with the sesame oil so my only recommendation for newbies like me, go easy on it and add more if necessary. Great job, great video, and love the dad jokes as a bonus...LOL.

Sesame oil is like Old Spice after shave - a little goes a long way. 🤣🤣 If you can find it, try toasted sesame oil. It's much more mellow.

I too have a BGE and recently bought a Blackstone...so your video will definitely come in handy as I explore its potential. I may add a few peas and carrots to the rice as well as a little lemon squeeze to the shrimp and mushrooms to the steak. Thank you again for going the extra mile to create and share your videos!! 😀👍

Very nice but I would suggest adding your garlic much later. Once it’s fragrant (30-45 seconds) it’s done. Adding it so early in the cook risks burning it.

Hoisin sauce and lobster sauce are other options. I like a little green onion and green peas as garni in the rice. I might dice up a shrimp or two and some chicken for the rice as well - extra flavor. Nice job! Love my blackstone griddle - have a GMG smoker and a weber gas grill. Most cooking is done outside, unless it's really storming, and even then we might have something on the smoker grill.

Great video, where did you find that spatula holder? I searched and found the blackstone version but it looks like it is a single holder, and yours seems to hold two. Also the blackstone version seems to be sold out everywhere!

My wife bought it at Walmart. It came with three magnetic hooks too.

I usually watch on my TV, but came to the computer just to ask that same question. I need that spatula holder!!! Adding links for little things like that could add a little income generation for you. 👍

@@thejerm14 I appreciate it. They don’t sell the Griddle Tool Holder on Amazon so I couldn’t add it to my storefront. I’ll check again now though.

Use Jasmine rice and you can cook it right before you put it on the griddle. No need to let it sit for hours.

I do use Jasmine and in my tests it still needs to sit.

The rice doesn’t need to be spread on a sheet pan true, but it must be day old dried out rice or else it will clump too much or be too sticky. Too much moisture left in the rice will cause steaming, that’s the reasoning for day old rice.

About 5 hours time in the fridge allows it to dry out enough. I’ve done a variety of times.

@@GrillThisSmokeThat then that's good enough. I was only explaining why it is so commonly recommended for the rice to be laid out on a pan and to be day old--too much moisture in rice means steam effect, which inhibits frying and causes sogginess and mush. Since your rice was dry enough, it's perfectly fine.

@@TightWadDIY FYI, I think he was missing a few ingredients that would have made that meal SING. Adding ginger sauce to the rice would have floated all your taste buds. Adding sesame seeds to the shrimp would have added just the right background flavor. And I would never, NEVAH, presented broccoli to anyone I wanted to remain friends with. Just sayin' .
