This is a super cool & simple hack - thanks for sharing! ... BTW: there are a few cases of "doesn't get it" in the comments here, so maybe point out the benefits of this method a bit better - like control over focus area, re-purposing an old piece of tech etc.

Would be cool to build a kind of cassette of prepared Instaxsheets for an easier change in the boxcamera...

Very good idea, but to get the perfect exposure without various Shutter speeds and apertures........ cool video, though

Nice job man. I've been looking up some ways to shoot instax. Home made pinhole cameras work too. I dont think need to put it through the Instax. All it does to process the film is squeeze it tightly through two rollers. You just need to squeeze or roll the chemicals from the pouch up through the film to stop the emulsion from absorbing light. Still need to do that in the dark but still better than having to carry around the Instax camera. I think a toothpaste squeezer might work fine if you pass it through with the thick chemical edge of film through first. Those things are only as big as a pocket comb too so a lot less to carry.

It uses 620 film, I don't think Kodak had type 640 in their catalogue.

Why go trough so much unnecesary trouble?? If you already have/buy an instax why not just use that?? Much easier and risk free.

Short answer: duh. Long answer: 1) Lens quality 2) full control over (selective) focus area - important for close-up and portrait 3) retro bonus 4) control over aperture & shutter speed 5) 100% more "zen"
