In Oregon we just use gravel and graders or dozers and keep the roads pretty smooth even in winter 🤷‍♂️

@@arthurn9237 we have a whole industry just for keeping the log roads passable. Drill, blast, crush, haul, spread. Usually all on the logging mainline but I guess that’s why Oregon is the nation’s largest timber producer

I used to roll off the scales at 160,000 pounds with wet morning sand in a tri-axle W900 pulling a quad-axle Travis full frame end dump, then drive through morning rush hour… but thats nothing compared to these loggers.

Some of these trucks see 1,2 or even 3 million miles some see double or even triple that. Replacing everything even down to the frame rails sometimes

Not only logging trucks, but far more oilfield trucks do this every single day in Northern Alberta and Northern British Columbia. Tri-drive all locked-up with triple-tryggs can out bog a dozer.
