You need to protect your eyes when using laser products by wearing protective lenses matched for the laser wavelength and strength ( in wattage) of the laser you are working with. For more powerful lasers you would use automated controls from behind a laser screen / panel from a remote location with possibly video feed to monitor the work. Lasers are no joke and will burn the eye in an instant when powerful enough resulting in physical damage to the eye and a high chance for partial to full loss of vision. These systems can be made quickly and cheaply but they are so dangerous that no manufacturer will build a basic unit and retail it at a low cost because of legal pitfalls associated with misuse.

This is exactly how you remove a tattoo. Tattoo removal they will be a bit more careful and use laser wavelengths and strengths that will react more with the ink than your flesh. Nicer machines will trace out the tattoo with help of a camera and computer and only blast the image of the tattoo.
