PREPPING THE SUBSTRATE OR SURFACE
One of the best ways to prep your surface is diamond grinding. You can rent concrete grinders at most rental stores. The next best way is using an etching chemical to etch the surface of the concrete. You can also sand the surface if the before mentioned methods can’t be done. If you can only prep minimally or can’t prep at all we have a Prep Replacement Primer to help achieve a strong bond. We always recommend prepping the concrete surface first.
PRIMING THE SUBSTRATE OR SURFACE
Priming the floor is simple and fast. Mix your pre-measured primer then dip and roll the pigmented primer across the surface until the floor is completely pigmented. Wait 1 hr (or until tacky and not coming off to the touch) and start applying the Base Coat.
METALLIC EPOXY COAT
Applying the Base Coat and Highlights is the funnest part. Mix your pre-measured Base Coat, pour it out across the floor and begin to spread out the epoxy with your rubber squeegee getting it as even as you can. Our Epoxy self-levels so don’t worry about getting it perfectly even. Quickly roll over the surface with your paint roller to help even out the epoxy. Now mix your pre-measured highlight color and apply it to the base color, then blend it to your desired look.
HIGH WEAR TOP COAT
We offer 2 different gloss sheens in our Urethane Top Coat. The Top Coat comes with the option to have a High Gloss or a Matte Finish. It needs to be rolled out super thin and leaves a minor texture which gives it the extra durability. Apply it within 24 hrs of installing your floor kit or you will need to sand the surface before applying it.

this is the best looking garage floor i have ever seen. i really dont like the epoxy and flake floor coatings, but i love this swirled epoxy finish.

Can I do 4000 psi high pressure cleaning using an epoxy floor cleaner? in workshops with grease and oil on the floor

I want to do this on my garage floor, but the slabs have shifted up or down a little bit in a few areas, resulting in steps about 1/4" high in several places. How can I get rid of the steps? Will the power floor sander I rent from Home Depot be able to remove the steps, or are they just good for scuffing the surface. Or can I add concrete repair material or Bondo to fill the low area next to the steps? The concrete is 15 years old.

This finished garage presents as absolutely amazing! Would love to get something similar in a blue and silver, nonetheless this is a GREAT looking job. Just a few questions, if you don't mind. What was your total time, from starting prep to final look? Was this a completely one man job? What are the curing times between coatings? Does Leggari offer a suggested life span of applied materials? How easy would it be to apply "touch ups" to this down the line?

I’d like to see the termination point where the garage door hits the floor over the material. And did you cut a line at that point ? Or leave a lip?

In our tutorial videos for our floor kits we always recommend to cut a termination point into the concrete under the garage door. Very simple step, but extremely vital! You know your stuff.

What depth can this stuff be poured? I want to grind, wash, level, and then epoxy my garage. Can I use this as a levelling compound or do I first use a concrete levelling compound and then pour this on top?

Epoxy sticks to anything. Concrete doesn't stick to other concrete so they sell a concrete primer in the flooring section.roll that on your floor (after its free of oils and dirt) and the self leveling cement will stick

I'm not positive but I think they do it for 2 reasons. One to seal the surface so moisture doesnt come up from the crack creating moisture bond problems and 2 if they pour the epoxy too thick it will crack. But in not positive I would love to hear their answer as to why they do it

That's a good question. I'm guessing they filled the expansion joints in order to create one smooth seamless surface. However, one needs to question what the long term impact is on having those expansion joints filled in and will they crack over time. It looks great now, but what is it going to look like 6 months down the road?

Filling the expansion joints and holes in the floor keeps the pigment from the metallics from moving in an unwanted fashion. The pigments from the color are heavier than the epoxy resin itself, and since the material naturally self levels you’ll run into the problem of creating unwanted movement when going for a seamless floor.

Smeared paint. Very bad quality. A 3 year old could do better.
