@@rosswilkinson1022 Well, it's a Rangemaster replica, and the Rangemaster or a clone was or is a basic part of the sound of Rory Gallagher, Brian May from Queen, Glenn Tipton from Judas Priest, Marc Bolan of T-Rex, and Ritchie Blackmore. Tommy Iommi from Black Sabbath used a modified version. So absolutely a very late-'60s/'70s British sound! (Billy Gibbons uses one too. Eric Clapton almost certainly *did not* use it on the Beano album, though!)

Hey Josh, This is Derek from Houston. Thanks for another great vid. Even though I'm a fan of Chase Bliss, and own some with seemingly endless permutations and daunting curve to dial in, I more the enjoy the designs with fewer knobs, like one, or NONE! Notably the EQD Tentacle and the Union Tube and Transistor ( &Third Man Records) Bumble Buzz. They are what they are when on. A refreshing take after the seemingly infinite permutations on the many knobbed design. Another aspect I really enjoy about your vids is that you get right to the point instead of hours of ancillary jibber-jabber, and keep them short. And record time is a great touch! Onya!

Good to hear you playing through just one pedal. So many reviews use the reverb/overdrive and other stuff and you just can't hear what the pedal is doing to the sound.

I love this channel, and the fact that he could only be presenting his own products but instead he shows us his collection and praise other brands too. I really hope JHS outsells them all just because of this.

I love a dyna comp. One knob pedals are my favorite. I've never been enamoured of big board effects, or laptop-sized pedals. That's why folks like MXR still have my heart. They're small pedals, they do one thing, they do it well, with simple and cool colors. They're "pedals," I don't really have to learn them. I get excited more by "I wonder what this turquoise things sounds like," than "I wonder how many sounds I can get out of this highly tweakable multi-effects device."

Another cool and informative video. It always cheers me up when you mention a pedal I actually have, in this case the excellent Doctor Q. My other one knob wonders are also EHX - a Screaming Bird treble boost and LPB-1 clean boost. Like you say, loud is more good,

My fav “one hit wonder” band (though I hate that term) is Blind Melon. Criminally underrated band whose first LP sounds nothing like their huge hit “no rain”. Psycho jammy guitar slinging goodness.

I bought a Catalinbread Sagrado Pablano Stout Boost years ago when I asked the local shop what would help my clean tones. I didn't even understand it then but it did what they said it would. Now, I love that old pedal, especially with a Tele or Strat. I also found a used Serrano Picoso Boost recently. You can use them as a buffer, or clean boost, or make it really dirty. They're rather obscure, but the picoso boosts are fantastic! You make a great case for the beano boost! Sounds awesome

Definitely agree on A-ha. It's too bad they're primarily known for "Take On Me" because that entire album is amazing. "Train Of Thought", "Hunting High and Low","The Sun Always Shines On TV"... so many great songs!

I had one of these. It was kind of clunky to put in an SG, so I replaced it with a LPB-2, which is the floor model. Both were extremely noisy, in my experience.

Not a one hit wonder; had 3 top 40 tracks from that one album alone (and one more from a different album) *and* "I Ran" was *not* the biggest hit by far; that was "Space Age Love Song". Do you remember the iconic hair the singer from A Flock of Seagulls had? The wedge type thing? If so that proves my point. That is not in the "I Ran" video; it is from the "Space Age Love Song" video.

One Hit Wonder..in UK. Sugar Minott Good Thing Going, released in 1978 is the quintessential reggae track. It has everything, great song, (Jackson's cover), great recording of a live studio band, simple arrangement, very few elements, with the classic reggae feel and tone and to top it all a fabulous singer. I have listened to this song more times than there have been days in the last 40 years and I can honestly say I never tire of hearing it. thanks Josh for your YT content, you are always informative, engaging and a pleasure to follow.
