I was in Saigon during Labor Day weekend 2017 as well. First time back in 42 years. Watching this video make me miss Saigon and all the gorgeous food.

WOW! Saigon is a very hectic and bustling City! ABBA's 'I am the City' comes to mind and the food to be eatened?!! Ymmm....the beef wrapped in betel leaves, the wok-sized Vietnamese crepe filled with lotsa yummy goodies, thumbs up my dear Helen, thank you for sharing and greetings to you from Mexico! :)

Huỳnh Phong lol "our" city. My family and I call it Saigon, but we live in the US. Everyone in the US that's Vietnamese calls it by Saigon.

Are you people ashamed taking advantage of the tourists to places where the food served unsanitary and toxic? Hiện tại dân tộc tập quán của người Việt Nam là cổ lỗ xỉ, cách thức sinh sống như là một đám chuột cống, ăn xả rác bừa bãi, thiếu ý thức, thiếu tôn trọng, thiếu lễ phép, làm ăn thiếu quy tính, lường gạt, giả tạo. Wow, that was a lot of food, remember most of these places are street side or next to it, Iave been to 2 of these places that are recommended & they are great: 1) Banh Canh Cua (crab noodle soup) 87 Tran Khac Chan, P. Tan Dinh, Quan 1, HCMC 2) Banh Xeo 335 (southern style Vietnamese crepes) 335 Dien Bien Phu, P4, Quan 3, HCMC 3) Bo La Lot (grilled beef in betel leaf) Quan An Bo La Lot Phuong, 109 Co Giang, P Co Giang, Quan 1, HCMC 4) Oc on Vinh Khanh street (snails & seafood), my favorite place on this street is Oc Oanh, they are the largest & busiest place, Helen went shows Thao Oc, which is right next door: 534 Vinh Khanh, P 10, Quan 4, HCMC Also, if you are looking for inexpensive sushi, go to Sushi Ko around the corner at 122 Vinh Khanh!!! Hi Helen, I agree with another commenter about you doing more of these and then add how to make it, I watch most of the food presenters on youtube and your demeanor is the best, you are a natural teacher and quite knowledgeable, I do not think many are doing the recipe after the tour? but it does not really matter if you do or don't,as your style of presentation will win many viewers, I think you will grow your channel more this way? Oh forgot! you should get more sponsers to pay for your trips too!

Helen has published at least one of these things, the thick noodles and crab soup for sure, and banh xeo too for sure. I thought she might say "this is in my cookbook"! The general street view was amazing, HCM City looks like one giant busy open air restaurant. You know they're getting out there if there are ingredients that even Helen can't identify!!!

This video was very nice and I really enjoyed it! It was nice to see authentic vietnamese cuisine being prepared/served in local restaurants and daily/night life in Saigon in general. I'm not fond of crepes but the banh canh cua and bo la lot looks tasty. I can't tell if they used charcoal or wood to cook it but the beef looked very tempting especially with that extra layer of burnt/charcoal flavor goodness. How much were those dishes in USD? Or are they part of the food tour? Also, Jackie is *so* cute and adorable! That blue outfit really suits her! :)

Minh Huệ Just a friendly recommendation that you should download some food tour app like Foody or Lozi on your phone. And the Banh Canh Cua place is at 87 Tran Khac Tran, Tan Dinh ward, District 1, I believe!

It all looks delicious, Helen! How do you compare the Saigon version to the ones you guys have in Da Nang? Triip appears similar to OneTrip, which is the one Sonny from the Best Ever Food Review Show partners with. I hope you and Sonny do a collab soon as I think his channel will continue to skyrocket because he has amazing videos that are so entertaining. Travelers to Thailand often experience Bangkok Belly when eating from the food stalls due to different bacteria and more of it since the food is out in the open, unrefrigerated. Are there the same problems in Vietnam for tourists unused to the food? Am planning a trip there and forewarned is forearmed, as they say.

As Zimmern, the bizarre food guy, said "if it looks good, eat it." If it looks unsanitary, don't bother with it. There's no food safety regulations in Thailand, Vietnam, and Cambodia, so eat at your own risk.
