This magnetized sensory toy is like nothing we've experienced before and really something you have to try to "get it." It's a lot of fun and very satisfying. It's Alistair's favorite fidget toy. Here's where you can order: shop.feelflux.com/?ref=y0VkPc...

I actually find these techniques fascinating and ill tell you why. I have Autism and ADHD and ive always had a bad stimming problem where i stim in a way that looks super obvious such as hand flapping, rocking back and forth, pacing, and also twitching my shoulders and hands in a jerky like movement. However I always took a liking to fidget spinners, spinning tops, and also handheld pinball games. Sometimes they helped and other times they didnt as my stimming problem is something i can't really control and have always gotten judged and bullied for it. However the whole time ive been watching your channel you guys inspire me because your sons remind me alot of myself as I was VERY similar to your youngest son at the same age. My advice to you guys is to keep doing what your doing and you can inspire alot of people. I'm also in the process of starting an audio blog about advocating for autism and speaking out against bullying and you guys gave me some of the inspiration to do so.

Here’s also a cool physics fact, Gravitational lensing is when a dense object like a black hole binds light that behind in front of it due to its gravity effect on light. So you could see somthing that’s actually behind the black hole, black holes are really crazy!

Cool video! Interesting concept with the magnet force moving at a slower speed. Definitely gonna have a field day finding its derivative to find how the rate of decrease can be displayed when watching the ball fall. I think seeing a graph of the function will give a good indication for how the ball falls through it and even maybe how it would fall through it if we change planets like go to mars we can use Mars’ gravity with the electromagnetic field and see how that impacts the downward motion. FYI, I’m 15 so Ian’s age and I’m also on the autism spectrum. I guess I’m a lot like Connor where I’m also in math and abstract thinking. I’d probably have a similar reaction to Connor lol if I got one of those stim toys. Anyways sending lots of love from Australia ❤, all you guys take care.

I’m in my late 40s and I remember that I was in High School physics class (Senior Year, age eighteen to almost 19 before I recognized Greek letters such as delta, epsilon, tau, sigma, pi, and maybe a few others). It looks like he’s already better at math than I am. I know the four basic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division), as well as fractions, decimals, percentages, integer and fractional exponents, and the formulas for Sine (O/H), Cosine (A/H), and Tangent (O/A), and I still remember some very basic algebra and some even more basic geometry (such as the Pythagorean theorem). I also remember some very basic calculus (such as calculating the derivative of x squared (to name one very simple example)). I also know some math relating to computer networking (such as binary, hexadecimal, and the following operations: bitwise and, bitwise or, bitwise xor (aka exclusive or), and bitwise not (aka bitwise complement). Anything else I would either need to review or learn from scratch.

Hay check out Lenz’s law. That’s exactly what your toy is doing! The ball must be a magnet in order for it to fall slowly-why? Because then when the bal fall, it will create a change in magnetic field in the (conducting) copper tube. By Lenz’s law, the tube will induce a magnetic field that will oppose the motion , and that’s why it’s falling slower than it should!❤

actually a magnet won't do any damage to most displays' there as you are likely using a LDC or OLED display that's all just light and electrical signals so there not much for it to cause issues with it could interfere with the signal that controls the display however they effect would only be temporary (I highly doubt it has enough of a magnetic field to damage the logic board ) with phones it's likely fine humans actually have an electro magnetic filed and your phone is meant to be carried next you body all day it's fine I highly doubt this could do much and every with your computer as your computer likely uses an SSD (witch are not effected my a magnetic field its likely fine sorry I ma a huge nerd

It would damage (or even erase) a mechanical hard disk or a floppy disk, though. Believe it or not some people still use these. I no longer use floppies myself but I find that mechanical hard disks last a long time and are still good for backing up data on a typical laptop or desktop computer. It would also erase VHS and other tapes. These are not commonly used these days (aside from watching old movies, and occasionally data backups) but some people use them from time to time. It would also likely damage a CRT display. I no longer use one but some people still do (believe it or not).
