The way I see it, Helsing is just follows the rule of cool philosophy to story telling. Trying to argue it being a narrative masterpiece is like trying to argue something similar with Kingsman, Mission Impossible or Die Hard. Its a vehicle to get all manners of crazy epic moments in with a story that is there to first create action and narrative second, rather then having narrative then action.
