@@segioferreiralima3788 aqui no Brasil , pelo menos que eu saiba, não temos fabricas de recuperação de baterias mas com certeza as baterias velhas voltam para as fábricas para que alguns componentes sejam reaproveitados como o chumbo e a carcaça plástica. A legislação aqui é bem rígida e como eu trabalhava no planejamento de produção, fazia exame de sangue somente uma vez por ano mas tem setores como a fundição que esses exames são feitos a cada três meses ou menos. O exame determina o nível de chumbo no sangue.

The first material, which was burned off to make ash and then ground to form a sort of clay, looked like shredded bark or wood waste; it keeps the plates from flaking through charge and discharge cycles. The more porosity of the anode and cathode plates, the more power you can draw out of it. The plate separators make it so the anodes and cathodes don't touch each other, which shorts out the battery. They're all in series in each cell which increases the amperage (power capacity). Separate cells (grouping the plates) increases the voltage, normally to 13.2 volts. The lead oxide is the positive side, the lead metal is the negative. When the battery discharges, they both turn into lead sulfate. Charging will convert it back, but there is a tendency for the crystals to get bigger, and the current to get lower. Draw too much, and the water in the acid breaks down giving off hydrogen. The important part was when he hooked it up to a charger - it activates the plates

So lead acid battery technology can be mastered in the backyard by some Indian guys with a shovel and a mixer, using clay, wood, recovered lead, azbestos and a scissors. I suppose this is the calcium carbonate enriched and non serviceable type of battery, five years warranty. People, this is iron age.
