Bathing elephants enjoying the waterhole, a lion pride is calling in the morning, a hippo family with baby returning to the water, a big herd of cape buffalo ramble through the plains and the first roan antelopes return to the park. Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe offers a huge variety of fascinating wildlife encounters and plentiful birdlife to observe.
One evening we came across an African wildcat when all of a sudden a black-backed jackal came along the way. We could not have predicted the outcome of this close encounter of these two small predators.
Welcome to our birding and wildlife safari to Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe in August 2021. We stayed three nights at the beautiful Camp Hwange and would like to thank the excellent staff and our amazing guide for this unforgettable safari.
