We really had a wonderful time in Mana Pools and maybe not so much luck when we were in Lower Zambezi. So for us, the Mana Pools safari was more rewarding than Lower Zambezi at that time. Then we left at 14:00 and came back for dinner at 18:00. So around 10 hours every day on the boat for 4 full days. One day we even stayed out and did not come back for lunch, so that was a 12 hour day on the boat. Jaguars usually start to show after the sun has risen and can be seen the whole day. As it is with wildlife, there is absolutely no guarantee for anything. One day we say 4 or 5 of them, the other day only 1very briefly. Lower Zambesi has the benefit of being in the same direction as south luangua, so it can be easily combined with connecting flights. Honestly we did not enjoy Kafue very much, maybe we were not at the right place at the right time, I don't know. BUT we love Busanga plains, that was one of the most impressive parks we have visited (but also very expensive): kzfaq.info/get/bejne/gdSpd8iG2dneZZs.html . What you should think about is getting a KAZA visum that allows you to enter Zimbabwe too and spend one full day at the Victoria falls (Zambia and Zimbabwe side): kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fdpxac6q0JrRl6s.html . So South Luangua, lower Zambezi and Livingstone would be a great combination. For safari, three to four nights is optimal, two nights is too short, five nights usually too long for one place. Victoria falls you need at least one full day for both sides if you hurry a bit. Best regards, Markus

It is very difficult to compare two parks in two different countries. Both parks offer a lot of spectacular wildlife to discover and both have rivers flowing through them. So I would choose the one that is easier to reach from where you live and also what else you have in mind to do in that country (e.g. Zambia would allow you to visit victoria falls in the south where Tanzania would allow you to spend some time at the ocean). When we go on safari, we always do multiple parks (as in this example we did Serengeti, Ruaha and Katavi together). So if you can do either or just pick the one that is more conveniant for you to reach. Wishing you all the best and best regards, Markus

We book everything with our traval agency and it is the full package with accomodation, diving and flights, no breackdown on accomodation only.
