I have improved the disc sander I made earlier so that it can be powered by a Makita battery.
Of course, it is possible to replace it with a general-purpose motor simply by replacing the pulley.
It is possible to sand more powerfully.

Unbelievable! Yet I sit here every time that JSK does his innate talents; showing us how simple, he does it so easily; and accurate, no less, WOW! . Not to mention his genius driven inventions; are constantly so awesome. I know of NO one on KZfaq; that can match him. And the best thing is: He never says a word. Which is a "jewel"; compared to all those that use their egos; that never "SHUT" up! Thank you kind Sir; for what you have done. Love it!

My boss at a sculpture studio is the same way. She always designs everything with fusion 360 or some other CAD software and makes careful plans before she ever cuts anything out. It makes for a different kind of on the fly problem solving, and I don't know if it's any more efficent, but it's satisfying to watch her click pieces together like a puzzle. But this guy somehow keeps his apron remarkably clean. I on the otherhand wing projects as I go, use cardboard templates and my eyeballs, and make a mess of myself and the shop, which leads to more time cleaning up and some wasted material. A tale of two cities I suppose.
@Baetzibaer

@@MrExplorerFilms What you see here is just what someone wants to be seen ... You do not see how they are getting there. Plus no one will ever see if and for how long these pretty looking softwood toys will cope with serious workloads.
@MrExplorerFilms
@MrExplorerFilms Жыл бұрын
@@Baetzibaer yes this is true. You only see what is shown to you. These wood tools are interesting because they allow the builder to understand the tool better, and also you can say that you made it. maple plywood is pretty good for making machines as it's stable, uniform, dense, and has grain in both directions. my issue is that 1. no matter how good the plywood is, it will still change due to moisture; parts will eventually warp and be unusable. 2. I wouldn't want any friction producing machine made of wood for fire reasons. 3 the wood would be destroyed in any other shop, but this guy seems pretty anal-retentive. 4 all these wood tools are just part of an easy money making genre on youtube. It usually makes way more sense to buy a cheapo tool versus build your own cheapo tool out of less durable materials.

Awesome project! Many connectors used in the project (motors, switches, lights) are actually spade connectors. I would use female spade connectors rather than soldering wires.
@winstonoboogie2424
@winstonoboogie2424 2 жыл бұрын
I disagree. Soldering is always better as it's not relying on a small point of contact, and isn't susceptible to corrosion. Also, brass is not the best conductor. Copper would work better for the slide-in flange connection of the battery.

@Alkatross

Spade connectors would be best here, but its probably fine. I just hope the surfaces are cleaned and tinned before soldering. You don't want to end up shorting the battery if a bad joint cracks loose.

I may have come across your work before but, this is the first time I really looked at it, You make awfully good tools from what looks to be Baltic Birch Pluwwd and Aluminum. The wooden battery box is clever. I'll try to remember that. I would have protected the electronics and motor from dust in the vacuum box. Fine sawdust and someone sanding Magnesium or Aluminum might start a fire in the motor brushes. Sanding metal may cause problems with open circuit boards anywhere. I really liked the portable drill press.
