I have the Concept 500's and I agree with their assessment. I used to own the B&W 804 D2 before then. And the difference is mostly in the high frequency for both. Where as the B&W went for the utmost detail and air, C500 went for a bit more laid back and relaxed sound. Mids are lush in both. Bass speed in B&W is faster and more agile, but quality is better in C500. B&W bass gets thunpy for hip hop, rap or electronic music when playing medium to loud thus the nod to C500 for bass. I settled for the C500 for the very reason it can be friendly to play with sharp recordings or non-audiophile recordings. Which in my case the entire genre of Bollywood is pretty sharp sounding and came across grating on the B&W. Audiophile recordings are unmatched on B&W but then again you buy the speaker to listen to your music. Not play demos to yourself all day. In the end both are excellent speakers but I appreciate the forgiveness the C500 brings and for that reason makes it a bit more versatile even if it's not the most detailed or airy.

Interesting review. I’m wondering whether the M33 and Q Acoustics might not be well matched especially if both have a more “polite” signature. Did you test the 300s with a sharper sounding amplifier?

Good review. Interesting that this is one of the few reviews that doesn’t rave about these speakers. Most reviewers note how balanced they are rather than having the extended highs of the B & Ws. Seems you guys prefer a V curve type speaker which these are definitely not. Other people also note the better than average sound stage and imaging as a highlight.

An amplifier with tone controls really sorts out the treble response of Q acoustics .

What position did you have the treble bridging strap in? There are 3 different positions which can be setup on this speaker.

Cool Shane you got some concepts. I really hopped you’d like them. I love my concept 500’s and 300’s I lack a lot of comparison.

Did you guys have the crossover jumper on the rear installed and if so in what position? Per the q acoustics concept 300 manual there is a -0.5db to the treble with it off, 0 with it on in the left position, and +0.5db with it on it the right position. Other revers mentioned that if the treble doesn't sound good double check that someone didn’t forget to install the jumper accidentally.

Hello I wonder if you would like / be able to take a look at the XTZ range? I'm a little interested in one of their speakers for the next upgrade, but do not know which one as there are not so many tests and information about them. Sincerely

Did you try using the link at the back of the speaker to adjust the treble by +0.5db. That may give you the airiness you’re looking for

Crap fir 4k dollars. Scam. No speaker this sized should cost like 4 iphones. This is ridiculous. Buy a pair of normal studio monitors dont buy overpriced "fancy" crap.
