Just a quick note, the 12,000 lb. Tallboy bomb wasn't the largest used by the RAF nor the largest carried by the Lancaster, that would be the 22,000 lb. Grand Slam. The Lancaster's normal max. bomb load was 14,000 lb.

It had to be modified to carry it, the guns had to be stripped out and it's ceiling, range and speed were all greatly reduced when using it, but they went after the sub pens and the hardned V2 launch site with it which were both pretty much the coast anyways.

@@_blitzterceptor_8648 They didn't really need those, they could have just had a P47 Thunderbolt carry either one of them to their target 🤣🤣🤣 There's a guy in a video talking about how they'd take off from hastily built air strip's in France with P47's that were overloaded by 1,000 lbs from runways that were 500 ft shorter than what was called for if they weren't overloaded, that'd be scary. But then again I knew an old guy back in the day that flew B29's off of Guam, he said the scariest party of every mission was taking off, that runway was shorter than what it should have been and as a result they were in War Emergency Power on all 4 engine's, it's as heavy as it's gonna be for the entire mission and fully loaded with fuel, at a certain point down the runway there was a flag on each side, that's the point of no aborting the take off because you'll never get it stopped before you get to the end of the runway, which was something like a 40 foot drop straight down to the ocean, if you lost an engine or one dropped power after that point you weren't going to make it, so when they got off the ground and breath a sigh of relief but you didn't dare cheer out loud, because right at the point you'd be doing that there were 4 or 5 planes that didn't make it directly below you at the bottom of the reef and the crews not only were friends of your's but they were still inside the plane's, because Navy divers at that point didn't have time to get their bodies out. How screwed up would that be? Every mission starts out with you and your crew flying over your dead friends.

2:10 The claim that the "first combat victory by a US-built fighter occurred in 1940 when F4F destroyed a Junkers JU88 bomber" is incorrect. That is the first kill by a US-built fighter in BRITISH service. A French Air Force Curtis P36 Hawk shot down a Me-109 in September 1939 and many more kills occurred with this aircraft before the F4F's victory (December 1940).

No C-47? The production of the DC-3 stopped at about 607, but military versions continued throughout WW2 and finally ended at about 16,000. That aircraft was used mostly for transportation of military personnel and equipment, but some versions were also fitted with 7.62mm mini-guns and called the AC-47 or "Spooky". But guns or not, it was integral to combat during WW2, Vietnam and other conflicts around the world.

@@melchiorvonsternberg844 Not necessarily, although they were in the hottest spot, just over the frontline. Also, the soviet industry has accelerated to such a pace that IL-2 was overproduced (as was T-34 latewar). There were many advocates of modernizing these, like T-44 project -- but the leadership didn't risk losing a military momentum for somewhat better tanks or planes. Another stalemate like Kursk or Stalingrad would be enormously expensive on human life and resources USSR never really had, suffering from shortage of literally everything through all of its existence (manpower first and foremost).

The Su-30 is my favorite aircraft. Maybe not as famous as the Eagle but it's gonna sneak up on enemy jets real quiet like and shoot them with its huge gun. My neighbor is an old F-4 Phantom pilot. He saw a little action in Vietnam. I keep telling him to write a book. He had his share of close calls and narrow escapes from MiGs. These are my 3 favorite aviation books: - Her Majesty's Top Gun by Sharkey Ward - Hogs in the Sand by buck Wyndham - Great Fighter Jets of the Galaxy 1 by Tim Gibson

Modern equipment costs SO MUCH more than the older stuff. Imagine having 10000 Lightning II built in five years, like the original Lightning. Note: cost per plane was $115 million in 2020 for the British. That'd be $1,150,000,000,000... one trillion one hundred fifty billion dollars in five years? That'd be about 1% of the five year US GDP just for the aircraft. Maintenance and spare parts costs would be ridiculous, and the cost to train the pilots...

You left out the C-47, C-53, Li-2 and Nakajima L2D (which are all the same basic military aircraft). The L-4, L-21 & U-7 Piper Cub should be there too (it was built for military service from the 1930’s to 1980’s).

Technically the Waco wasn't an aircraft, but a glider, without an engine it needed another aircraft to fly, perhaps you need to replace it with the UH1, and where are the DC3 and the An2? They had been employed in military roles.

@@callancaustic9355 Because Mainland China is leaning heavily on big businesses, big tech included, that let their employees, users, or subscribers criticize Mainland China, or in any way supports the statement or idea that Taiwan is an independent state, including showing the Taiwanese flag. All china has to do is threaten to block Google or KZfaq from it's country and AmazingViz can be partially or completely banned for showing a jacket with the Taiwanese flag, FUCKING scary, isn't it?

@@beaverchicken Dude, universal just knuckled under to China and made john cena (the pussy) apologize for saying Taiwan is a country, let me repeat, "FOR CALLING TAIWAN A COUNTRY." China, or the Chinese people, can say "we are insulted Google, scrub A.V. videos or we will stop you from doing business here" and AmazingViz will disappear from everybody's subscriptions list and nobody would ever know why. The Po-2 didnt not shoot down a Starfire, but rather it’s very likely the pilot of the starfire went so slow (to try and get a shot on the Po-2) that it stalled and crashed into the sea. Please do more research in the future
