From a Live audio engineer - Lavelier mics are notoriously some of the most difficult mics for anyone to use, they are the bane of a lot of semi pro audio guys. you need a lot of training and understanding to use them properly, it aint a simple plug and play... to know proper RF would help you, but unless youre spending serious money on shure ones with a really good transmitter-reciever set then theres no point, youd have to hire one of us to use it for you. if you have more than one mic, good luck on avoiding phasing, if you arent using a high pass filter, a good EQ, and a nice amount of compression then you will REALLY struggle using Lavs. Like the dude below says, use a zoom recorder, i recommend the H5 with the X-Y capsule for stereo recording, either that or use a decent but cheap x-y condenser mic pair, can get the shure ones they put in their drum mic kit pretty cheap and i think for the price theyre quite decent. still need to learn how to use an EQ, how to gain stage, etc etc...... if you cant do it, please pay someone to do it for you or something, dont go to AI, youll waste your money and youll help the people trying to take our jobs with crappy AI, thanks dude :)
