Thanks! Awesome and very useful comment. Yeah, technically, anything that will charge at 5V will work but just not with the higher power charging modes. Also, the reason they all start at 5V is to not potentially break the thing on the other end. The USB PD specification is great, it is also very long. I'd include more references to it but I think that's all copyright infringement. I need to make some better graphics to make the modes clearer. I've been slowly working on improving the presentation in the videos, it is as always a work in progress.

@@AllThingsOnePlace The only one we appear to have in the UK is an Amazon Basics 63W Two-Port GaN Wall Charger with 1 USB-C Port (45W) and 1 USB-A Port (18W)

Yeah, I should check it out. Currently, I am using the Anker 100w Prime as my travel adapter. It's as light as a lot of 65W adapters and just a little bigger and three ports.

Any luck with getting the Belkin 65W dual USBC tested? I have 2 units however they both heat up significantly under load to the point I stopped using them in favour of Ugreen.

It seems like the ones I think are going to be bad end up okay. This one has been my daily driver since I reviewed it. Bumped out the Belkin.

I use one everyday, USB cables 3 video has them covered. They aren't bad at all.

Yeah, this one, the still best 65W adapter seems to have disappeared. I need to test the 'new version' and see how it does. The 68W one is not good.

The price drop helps the value proposition a lot, basically in line with this Amazon Basics product.

It is perfectly safe, actually out of the lower wattage options this is one of the better chargers, if you can find it. It has had a lot of out of stock notifications.

I have one of those in the queue also… and a whole bucket of other ones.

The THD is for the mains side. If a power adapter is poorly filtered, as many cheaper adapters are, the high ripple can leak through the adapter and effect the quality of the DC power delivered. This would basically make the device being charged have to do a little extra work to regulate the unstable incoming voltage. This path is not going to be that concerning in terms of damage to the device. The other way around though, the AC side, the current THD is fed back into the line where it creates extra losses in the transformers and wiring that supplies your power. The higher the THD the more content at frequencies that aren't 50 or 60 Hz which can cause all kinds of issues but as always the amount matters, so at 1 mA and 400% THD, who cares. The effect gets bigger as devices get bigger so often PC power supplies all have correction while smaller bricks tend to not need it since the current is lower. At 65W it's not a huge effect, so the monetary result to a residential user is fairly small.

This doesn't support Samsung's protocol. The device does support PD 3.0 so any Samsung device with that capability will charge faster but maybe not at the "maximum" possible rate.

It has universal input voltage. 100 - 240 VAC

They need to make an EU optimized version.

True. I have done a few that have both port styles and it is nice to have the A port available. The USB C connector is better for some reasons. At the least at least it fits in both ways.
