Thanks for talking on this issue. Political appointees are usually dumb and hurtful to Pakistani interests abroad. Abida Husseins total education was FA when she was appointed ambassador in Washington. Her total experience back then was political wrangling in Pakistani political environment.

Ambassador Sahib! I was wondering if political appointees and all those other than the Foreign Service Personnel were well familiar with the intricacies of diplomacy as they would be more inclined to reflect and project the government of the day they owe their induction to. I am afraid that it's sheer injustice and affront to the competent and far abler people from the diplomatic corp as they are well-grounded in this discipline and art. I wish a government stops every typet of induction from any department other than the Foreign Service of Pakistan and strict adherence to observe merit. Such like measures can yield much better dividends in terms of an effective foreign policy.

It sounds like you haven't done some thing remarkable for the country, just passed your time as other beaurucrates do usually, enjoying the benifits and protocols on the the taxes paid by poor and needy people.
