My friend Shannon has a small apartment in Los Angeles, and the bathroom is old and outdated. So I am showing you how to redo your bathroom on a budget! Painting, marble counters, and a full new look, this whole project was cheap and easy and quick! And has an amazing before and after - not to mention the room now has a Tumblr worthy instagram aesthetic and we did it all by ourselves! No men (and no professionals haha) needed :P
...all broke bitch style, of course.

Tip: put silicone around sink, it's also removable and allows contact paper to last longer, because of water spillage around sink. Well done girl 😍

Step 1: Maybe clean the bathroom? :/ No hate I love the makeover, just thought it could be better to wipe that counter top, backsplash, clean the mirrors, dust the walls, clean the tub and the rug... Of course it's great to make it pretty, but a foundation of cleanliness is important in my opinion

At 3:23 Shannon is cleaning the counter tops (I think the marble sticker sticks better to clean surface), the mirror looks cleaner at the end of the video than it did at the beginning, maybe the tub wasn’t dirty? And I’m sure they got rid of the rug because it didn’t fit the aesthetic they were going for.

@@Melidraconis I get your point, I saw the mirror too, but it's not a ''deep clean'' like I would have expected. Maybe I'm just a cleaning maniac, but I like the whole room to be clean from top to bottom, left to right, before I add any decor/paint/curtains etc

@@amyarranaga7101 Maybe it's just me cuz I'm a cleaning maniac, but the stains on the walls are easily removable with some water and dish soap, just got to dry them right after so they don't mold. That vanity could have been cleaned and the stained removed with some baking soda. Personally, I dust the ceilings quite regularly (read ''The Butler Speaks'' a really comprehensive guide on homemaking) and clean the walls and baseboards maybe 2-3 times a year. Always clean a room from top to bottom/left to right to make sure it is thorough!

yo Amber, seriously thanks to your inspiration i made my ugly ass dorm more bearable. covering the rancid plastic fake granite tops on the dressers/desk with paper makes a world of difference. can't afford contact paper but gift wrap and double sided tape works just as well for dry surfaces which ill be using for only a year. seriously, thanks a lot. aside of that, ive been regularly watching your channel since the "how to make clothes look expensive" videos, for i think over a year now, so im also thanking you for being a great source of entertainment and distraction through lots of tough times. even though my taste in fashion and aesthetics may differ from yours (im more of a 1930s type of person), i appreciate your talents so much. keep on being great.

Great job ladies. Keep in mind everyone, this is an APARTMENT. There's only so much renovating or updating property management will allow. I'm surprised she was able to paint the cabinets, however I suspect as long as it was the same color they approved it. Ya done good cuties, ya done good.

Once I have a place I can, I'd love to 'frame' a bare mirror like that and put those lights on it! Can just glue wood trim over the edges of the mirror. Looks super polished!

Apartments that have had previous tenants tend to be and no matter how hard you clean it doesn't always come off. Marble also stains super easy since its porous and those stains do not come off.
