Ambience of Yesteryear

Ambience of Yesteryear

4 жыл бұрын

List of Sounds:
- birdsong, ebullient and irrepressible, heralding spring with melodies of courtship: each bird a troubadour, each love-song a proclamation of the self-renewing, self-renewed, indomitable burgeoning of life
- breeze made mild and caressing by the softening season, beguiling enough to entice petals from the blooming branches and to begin thus the dance of all transient things (to float, to float, to float, and then to fall)
- sometimes, distantly, the jingling & chiming of wind-bells, hung from a neighbor's farthest eaves
- after a long overwintering, the livestock residents of the village greeting now the sun, the spring, and each other: oxen lowing, chickens clucking, roosters crowing, sheep and new lambs calling out to each other in contented reassurance of their nearness
- the small bustle of passing footsteps and murmurs typical of villages, where friends are recognized before they are seen, not just by speech but by the familiar cadence of their stride
- occasionally, drifting from the windows of a nearby house, the just-audible strains of an erhu and voice joining the birds in song
- indoors, the rustling, stroking, and smoothing of bed-silks (first rumpled by the tossing and stretching of awakening, then guided by the firm press of a palm back into place); the tying-back and arranging of bed-curtains
- the leisurely combing of hair, relishing the feeling of one's own cascading tresses before each strand is gathered back and up and the day, in earnest, begins
- the whispered clinking and clattering of a teapot and a single cup, placed there as a love-token just before the first stirring rays of sun set the curtains aglow, the morning beginning then with warmth and radiance and the fresh, vital scent of tea

Question: What is an ambience video?
Answer: Pleasant, soothing background images & sound for relaxation, study, play, or work; gently occupies an anxious or unfocused mind without causing unwanted distraction; creates a comfortable, inviting atmosphere; personalizes sparse, colorless, or impersonal environments; enlivens spaces where we live or work alone; fills silence with more subtlety, ease, and warmth than music or TV; offers softly dynamic "rainbow noise" instead of monotonous white noise; enhances interior design & personal style by turning screens/screensavers into live photographic displays.

A NOTE ON ADS: This channel attempts to be ad-free and noncommercial, in resistance to ever-more-intrusive, ever-more-ubiquitous ads and the promotion of unsustainable, dehumanizing consumerism. Any ads that may be visible are inserted automatically by KZfaq without my approval, and to my great distress: I have not authorized and receive no revenue from ads. My channel was established with the sole intention of sharing as an act of love and service.
I do not expect or intend to receive any personal gain; however, some viewers with the generous desire to donate have nonetheless requested a method by which to do so. I love this, a bedroom inside of a room. Back in history they would do the same thing in England. Putting bedroom inside a room or just make a room inside of a room with a bed in it. I think it's a nifty idea myself.

This brings me back to memories I have staying in the village of my grandfather. This brings immense peace, and truth be told, this sounds very realistic. I know this is chinese, but this reminds me of the village in Middle Java. If it's not a bother to you, and in case this might strike an inspiration, it would be nice to have a javanese one. With rustling of wind through bamboo leaves, people chatter, an old lady sweeping the yard, chicken in the backyards, and soft middle javanese tembang in the distance. Thank you!

As usual, a beautiful ambience, Helen. I definitly love the harmony of all your videos, just by looking at the thumbnails we can see in less than one second that they were created by the same artist. How long does it take you to edit one video ? Many ambience creators just have the same sounds over and over the whole video but you seem to pay attention to every second of yours and there's no loop. Wonderful !

Oh, Diane, I'm so sorry that I wasn't able to reply to you earlier. There is so much I want to say! :) First of all: I **must** mention your recent meteoric rise on KZfaq! I am so glad and grateful that so many others have been able to discover the beauty, thoughtfulness, artistry, and authentic, heartfelt warmth of the videos you offer. I'm sure that their lives have been enriched by what you share here on KZfaq, just as mine has. Believe it or not, I am too shy to comment on other people's videos -- and I suspect that any comment from me on your own channel might have been lost among the many (rightful) praises you have received lately, anyway! -- so I take this opportunity to tell you how happy I am that so many people can now be touched by your beautiful soul. :) I imagine it might also be a bit dizzying and overwhelming, though! Secondly: I was surprised and humbled to see my channel listed in your most recent video description under "Some other ASMR channels I love." You have put me among illustrious company! :) It is a joy to know that I can be part of a community of mutual enrichment and inspiration. And it is a joy to be able to offer something that benefits, even in small ways, someone as lovely as you. Lastly: I cannot neglect to thank you **again** for your kindness and support in this comment, which is just one more example of the generosity of heart you've always shown me. To answer your question, it's hard to say how many hours I spend on a video, honestly. I'm sure there are many people who could work more quickly than I can, since I've taught myself everything ad hoc, haphazardly, and am very limited by poor health. Generally speaking, I require a minimum of three weeks to create a new video, working at my maximum capacity. I don't keep track of the hours spent, since it is a labor of love for me, but I'd say each video requires at least 40 hours, probably. I do indeed create each soundtrack as a complete four- or five-hour piece with no loops (although of course individual sounds are repeated, the soundtrack as a whole is not); I appreciate that you've paid enough attention to notice this. :) Thank you again for everything, and congratulations, lovely lady!

Noone else could have grasped this time in history with this elegance, this delicacy, gentleness, just you. I feel the whole era present in this scene. The delicate observance of rules in every single aspect of life - is this a state of strictness which Western-bred people could not understand and bear, or does this leave any room for freedom of thought? Latin murmuring in the background... 😍😍😍 So many possibilities

There is, in fact, an ancient Roman scene currently in the works! It is not (for now) one of your excellent suggestions -- your description of the peristylium was entrancing! -- but perhaps it will still be something that piques your interest. I hope to finish it in the next week or two.

It's warm and the atmosphere is great, but it would be nice if you could make some HD video

I'm sorry for responding so late, but I would like to check: were you unable to view this video in HD? The version I made and uploaded was indeed HD quality, so I hope nothing went wrong in the process of actually putting it on KZfaq.

@@ambienceofyesteryear6871 Oh, thank you, your videos are good enough. what I mean "HD"is the full HD 1080P, I think that looks more clear, but your video sounds great, and asmr ambience is mostly used for listening but not for watching. Whatever, thank you for your great arts!

I love to listen to these ambient places in the past when I am reading, solving studies, or helping me sleep with my tinnitus. I was wondering though if it is okay to use this as background sound while I am streaming chess during the early night. Is this okay with you?

I appreciate the research you put into this, it's so real that I'm almost getting triggered. Like 🤣 triggered into past life memories or something that idk if I want to relive lol, I guess the only thing is a rich bedroom like this might be buried deep into a courtyard usually and idk how much of the street noise and farm animals you'd hear this closely?

Thanks for actually having some non-Western, non-American or European stuff. Even if these are kind of made up, still appreciate the Asian stuff. Too much of KZfaq is too Western. Very interesting, cool, and thoughtful stuff on your channel.

If "going back to [your] cozy room" is an option, it is, in my opinion, an option that should always be carefully explored. :) You are also very welcome to come to this room, and watch the sunbeams, and listen to the birds, and forget about everything else for a little while.

Yes, it is a bit lower in volume than my usual videos; I ran into some trouble with the program I usually use. Still, I'm glad it was too soft rather than too loud (which would, I think, be more disruptive). I hope you had no trouble turning up the volume.
