This is our entry to the third annual saxxy awards that me and my girlfriend worked on for 4 months straight.
We both improved through this project and learned a ton from it, making the process very enjoyable.
About the video:
I always wanted to make a long video ( something that is around 5 minutes long ) so I am very happy that I could finally
accomplish it with help, that I am truly proud of. I also wanted a story that is complete and can introduce all the team members
equally. Not for last this video was made 100% in Source Filmmaker. ( expect the credits at the end )
It only uses Valve IP
What I wasn't too happy about is the fact that I had to rush several times, because of various PC problems.
Even now I don't feel too good about it. Also the story may seem too "complex" in the first minutes but I had to
rethink several scenes, because of the time limit in the rules.
Also, DAMN YOU MEGUI! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO THE VOLUMETRIC LIGHTS?!

I love how near the end scout just slides through the air shooting the red team and saying "I am the scout here." Really shows how much effort they put into this

I see that you guys keep mentioning the animation and the framerate about this video as a problem. That is actually quite relaxing to hear, cause it means that the rest is perfect. :D But I think I can show some comparison videos about this issue later.

I don't know why but every time I start up watching TF2 SFMs I always find myself back here. Seriously, something about this is just so interesting that I've always got to watch it. Just amen to you man, you've probably created my most watched animation and I honestly can't find out why.

just because they dont wear hats doesnt mean their not f2p, my friend on steam bought multiple tour of duty tickets for an aussie, i got some graybanns cuz of him, and yet he has a page fullof hats, and he doesnt wear any (sometimes he wears a gibus or his terror watt bonk helm)

Not bad at all. Your animation seems pretty good but at the same time it's pretty obvious it was done frame by frame. I'd run a smoothing filter over some of the character animations to make the movement seem more fluid and stop it from being all flickery. Also noteworthy is that a lot of your characters seemed to have parts of their foot clip into the ground at points. Holding down shift while positioning characters has been infinitely helpful to me for preventing stuff like this. Otherwise stellar work. I can tell you put a lot of effort into this and looking forward to see what you do at the next Saxxy Awards (if you decide to participate).

Thank you for your comment. Actually, I did all the above, but since this doesn't have any motion blur enabled nor any kind of after editing the video looks like this. I don't wish to participate in the next Saxxy Awards, because this video taught me that even with 3-4 months behind the video, it is not worth it to rush it in the last weeks and limiting it down to fit it's rules made it even worse. Not to mention half of those nominees overwhelmed a ton of under appreciated pieces with their zombie fanbase and I don't even wish to mention those "honourable" mentions.

this was a great movie, and to be honest, i love the jittery frame rate, giving it more of an Gmod like feel, but since everything is moving smoothly, and for 5 minutes, make it all the more feeling of it been more impressive. well done

Great plot & momentum in the story telling. Those 2 are the most important, the whipping on the cake is refining the animation, but yeah loved it :) keep it up!

The SFM übercharge always flickers like it’s about to end, so you improvise by übercharging the entire team because it drains your übercharge very quickly if you do that

Other than the jitteriness of this animation, I really quite enjoy it. You've got something here, and it's good. With a little more dramatic buildup, I think this would be pretty damn fine.

To be perfectly honest, the bad animation and framerate issues actually makes this seem a lot more like a stop motion animation... which isn't really a problem. In fact, it's the perfect combination of these flaws that allows the video to be more enjoyable anyway since it's just enough to satisfy one's willing suspension of disbelief. The video's flaws are _working together_ to help capture life in a more believable manner.
