I'm so grateful to the AMC crew for choosing to devote an entire show to the life and career of Robin Williams. Such a classy and fitting way to say goodbye and celebrate his body of work and his impact on the world. Well done AMC. This is probably the first celebrity death that really took a toll on me. He always talked about shedding light into the world by means of laughter. It's so heartbreaking for a man who speak firmly on this and yet he couldn't help himself. He made sure those around him were happy, and never to took care his depression. If ANY of you suffers from depression, PLEASE talk to someone. Take care of yourselves and may he Rest in Peace.

Gained a lot of respect for Jon after that intro, that was really touching knowing that he was that inspired and entertained by Robin williams. And I have to agree that The Birdcage has to be his most underrated performance. Truly a hilarious film and his chemistry with Nathan Lane might be one of the best onscreen couples of all time. Robin made gave the world the greatest gifts of laughter and emotion, and did it in such a beautiful way. I only wish he could have known the joy he brought the world. RIP Genie/Mork/Mr.Keating

John Campea, that opening was heart-wrenching. It brought tears to my eyes and placed a lump in my throat. Your words echo my sentiments. Thank you for devoting today's show to Robin WIlliams. My first time seeing Robin WIlliams was when I was 16 and saw him on the Richard Pryor Show. I've followed him ever since. His passing has touched so many so deeply. Robin WIlliams once said, and I quote, "Death is nature's way of saying. 'Your table is ready.'."

Fantastic episode guys. Robin Williams was a huge part of my childhood with films like Aladdin, Jumanji, and Flubber. He would later become one of my all-time favorite actors with films like Mrs. Doubtfire, Insomnia, The Fisher King, The Birdcage, and my personal favorite, Good Will Hunting. He was a true talent that will never be forgotten. Genie, you're free!

Robin Williams was a man that was on my bucket list to meet. its too bad that I never got the pleasure of meeting him. I saw many of his films multiple times. I can quote many of his lines in some of them. its amazing how much time I have spent getting to know him without actually meeting him. he brought joy to so many people and their lives. it just floors me how such an energetic man could suffer depression. we all have our demons that we struggle against. he will be forever missed.

Bicentennial Man, a lot of people didn't like it for its story or premise but it's one of the very first movies to make me cry when I was a kid and I completely bought the fact that Robin Williams was a robot that would rather die as a man than live on forever as a robot.

Oh man... you almost lost it there in your intro, John... and I almost lost it with you. Good for you for doing this tribute, a consummate talent has left us. I'll never forget the first time I saw Robin's performance in Good Will Hunting, his effortless portrayal of a man with deep loss, and seeing that pain explode the surface; the humanity and the pathos he displayed in that particular role stunned me it was so true and real. My only consolation, is that I can almost hear the belly laughs up there as he and Bernie Mac tear it up for a packed audience of millions :) Thanks guys.

I can see this hit John pretty hard as it did many others. Regardless about how his life was ended, the life he lived was a miraculous energetic poignant journey that he lovingly shared with all of us. There's not many actors little lone people in this world that have influenced our lives the way he did. He was a kind generous man that donated his time to children and charities. He could bring us all to our knees laughing or make us weep in retrospect of tragedy. Globally, more than 350 million people of all ages suffer from depression & I hope more than anything his mark on this world stands true to who he was & not what he was.

Also, I'm with Campea, in that I never had the honour of meeting Robin Williams, but his passing moved me to tears. Thank you guys for reminding how big Robin Williams was throughout my entire life. I've seen so many of his films and loved pretty much most of them, I also think Hook and Death to Smoochy are highly underrated. Death to Smoochy was the first movie Robin Williams movie that appealed to me as an adult, well a 19 year old anyway. I loved Hook and Aladdin as a child, the first adult movie I saw him in was Good Morning Vietnam when I was 11 or 12. It was my first 60's era movie and the 60's is currently my favorite period of American history to study as someone who loves history as well as movies. My dad also loved the movie as someone who had served in Vietnam and later joined both the anti war and civil rights movement when he returned home.

Great Intro and speech John Campea!... Usually the passing of celebrities doesn't phase me... but this one hit me hard... The man of many smiles and laughs is now gone. How he died should not matter, what should matter is how he lived and how his career was full of a contagious laughter that not only would it make our day but it would make ANY smile wider and wider. There is no movie of his out there that never brought a laugh/smile out of us. A great actor/comedian/human being and will always be one of my favorites.

Thank you for this show, guys. Robin Williams is definitely one of the people I admired the most throughout my life. An actor with an unbelievable expressive range - from intense, tear-jerking drama, to wild, uncontrolled comic acts. His improvisation skills were not something you see every day, and he managed to entice crowds and make people burst into laughter everywhere. I grew up on his classics, I matured with his dramas. To this very day I enjoy his masterpieces, and so will my children. Classy videos like yours help us say final farewell to our Captain.

Every time I heard or read the news I cried. As a child of the 80´s/90´s I grew up with Hook, Aladdin, Mrs. Doubtfire... Never cried for an artist before. But this is such a tragedy. He truly was a star. He had to since his performances were always brilliant. You could feel how he just placed a little bit of his soul into each character. It was as if you knew him. Such a lovely person. Here´s hoping the Oscars do gives him an honorary award or something. Robin Williams, shine in the skies as the star you were Earth.

One film that wasn't mentioned on today's show that I think he gave a great performance in was the movie "The Final Cut" if you haven't seen it give a shot it's really good. John you had me going man, you almost had me balling with you. This hit me so hard. Robin Williams brought real joy to my childhood. I had a lot of love for that man. Mrs. Doubtfire helped me get through my parent's terrible divorce because it showed that divorce didn't mean that the family couldn't still be happy. I watched it every day for months and then whenever I could after that. I decided to watch it again last night and it hit me like a shot to the gut that, that movie was one of the only things that helped me make sense of such a terrible time in my life. It may just be a funny little film to some and that is okay, but for me personally it spoke to me on a much deeper note while at time allowing me to laugh it all away. Robin Williams will be so deeply missed.

My heart took a plunge when i heard the news on his death. I mean it makes you think sometimes when having an actor you grew up with on TV just pass away in a blink of an eye. Leaves you empty inside because you know he was really special and he shared it with everyone. Something most modern actors don't execute quite precisely. With that said if he commited suicide it was his choice and his choice alone and no one should pass judgment. Its obvious money can't buy happiness. Thank you for the laughs and gracing us with your talent Mr Williams. God bless

It was a nice send off for a great actor. And above all, a great person.

What Dreams May Come is one of my favorite touching and darker films from Robin. His stand up always made me laugh so much I'd cry. RIP Robin, you have touched so many of us forever.

One of my all time favorite movies is Good Will Hunting. And those scenes with Robin Williams and Matt Damon were so touching. The park scene... just, so good.

Good Morning Vietnam, my favorite as I saw it while serving in the Army and I felt the compassion that Robin expressed in his character.

And man Robin Williams, im 20 years old so i literally grew up watching his films, my earliest memories of films envolve most of his films. Films like Mrs Doubtfire, one of the best comedic performances of all time, films like Jumanji, one of the first films i remember watching, thats the film that made me the movie lover that i am today. We will all rembember Robin Williams, RIP.

For me, I will always remember when, on Inside the Actor's Studio, Lipton asks him to explain his genius, and Williams goes on a 5-6 minute non-stop improv, including 2-3 minutes with a lady's pink scarf, finishing by saying it was less of an explanation and more of an exploration of his gift. That will always define Robin Williams in my mind.

Bravo John Campea and all the AMC crew the intro was perfectly stated. Gained even more respect that was already there from most of us.
