The recreation of the Runaway was precious. Those guys all still alive, awesome.

I love that Hopper painting. I wonder if Hopper saw that scene in real life and snapped a picture, then painted it, or if he painted an imaginary scene... And the guy in the video's interpretation of it was spot on

I went to a recent Hopper retrospective here in Paris. I was surprised I didn't like the famous paintings much! What I loved was his watercolors of banal places in Gloucester, Massachusetts. As a former NYer, though, I like the Hopper images -- I'm from Ohio, originally, and have been a "short order cook." Pretty fun presentation -- thanks. Uprated.

Nighthawks seems very film noir, secretive, separated, espionage. There is mystery and slyness, hiding under the shadow of night in plain sight.

Fun fact to "Tom's Diner": The success from 1990 was the result of a copyright violation. DNA didn't ask for permission for the remix. The music company which represented the rights of Suzanne Vega didn't sue DNA, which they could have hat, but they simply bought the remix.

I as a non brit europeandidnt at all find the new yorkers rude. Nor do I think the show was trying to make that point. The british humor is often mistaken for diskheadetry, but is only a role played out by some brits for fun. Like americans also act extra american for fun sometimes

I'd prefer any Norman Rockwell work on my wall to the depressing daubings of Hopper.

I've never been to New York, nor have I have ever been to America. I've ALWAYS wanted to visit America, and especially New York at Christmas, but after watching this video, it would appear quite obvious to me that New Yorkers are very ignorant and couldn't care less!! I think therefore, I'll give New York a miss - thank you!
