AH-64E Apache (USA) VS Kamov Ka-52 Alligator (RUSSIA) | A Comparison of two deadliest Attack Helicopters*

 In this video, we present you guys a comparison between one of the best of US and Russian Attack Helicopters, the ‘Kamov Ka-52 alligator and the AH64 E Apache.
 The Ah-64E helicopter which is the latest version of the Ah-64, is an American twin-turboshaft attack helicopter with a tailwheel-type landing gear arrangement which is built for the US Army.
 The Kamov Ka-52 alligator on the other hand, is a Russian attack helicopter with the distinctive coaxial rotor system of the Kamov design bureau.

This is not accurate. Kamov ka-52 has climbing rate of 16 m/s ....while Apache has climbing rate of 12 m/second.

As soon as you said that KA52 climb rate is 10 m/s that's when you lost all credibility. It's 16 and faster than apache any day.

ED DE, Depends, like my brother @MrNotadream explained. And it doesn’t always matter how fast a vehicle can go, the equipment, armor, and armaments matter a ton in a one on one situation. The AH-64 kicks the fuck out of the Ka-52 in equipment and armaments, the armor is a little better too. Fitted with a rotating 30mm MG(1,200rnds)plenty of Hellfire or sidewinder missiles(16+)and even more 70mm rockets(76+rnds), it blows everything else out of the water in today’s Air capability competitions. Not to mention, it can receive data, counter, and control drones. Edit: The Ka-52 can only hold 6 anti-tank missiles and

The Apache can only hold 8 ATGMS, 4 air to air missiles and unguided rockets The KA-52 is the one that can hold the 12 ATGMS as well as unguided missiles and again 4 air to air missiles. Not to mention the KA-52s 30MM has more armour penetration then the Apaches. The KA-52 is also MUCH MUCH MUCH more manouverable then the apache because it has co-axial rotors, as well as better survivability then the apache. The KA-52 can also operate without it's tail. All the information you have is wrong.

You missed one big feature of the Alligator. It has ejection seats. Only attack copter in the world with ejection seats.

Comparing these two helicopters makes no sense. The AH-64 can be compared to the Mi-28 but surely not to the KA-52 which is clearly on a whole different level.

Would you prefer to ram into the ground with all that sophisticated US machinery or, as an option, use emergency escape and save your life, which is much more precious than AH64. The choice is yours. No other chopper in world has this kind of pilot's life saving technique.

Eugene Baranov, The hind E(NATO term) is better equipped than the Ka-52, I believe that. But against an Apache, it doesn’t stand a chance, maybe a good fight, but not the one that takes down the king of the skies.

Жень дай бог им не сталкиваться , но у апача ракеты лупят на 16 км , у нас самая большая дальность 8 км , апачи воюют по всему миру , мы по телеку , да в Сирии чуток , апачей выпустили более 2000 штук , ка 52 чуть более 120 , большинство для Египта , вот и флагман , свою армию обеспечить не можем , денег на закупку нет, одного не пойму как нет денег для свой армии?

Why you've chosen Ka-52 for this comparison? This is not the main Russian attack helicopter. This is a special thing for special operations, highly maneuverable, effective in urban areas. And as a tradition Kamov's has a naval version too. But, rather, you should have a look at Mi-28 "Havoc" to compare. This is the the main Russian attack helicopter. The "Night Hunter" - a completely different kind of beasts. Mi-28 would be a better comparison to the AH64

Sad they doesn't have the MI-28NE equipped with radar N025E and have dual-control, similar to the modification of the Mi-28UB. Algerian air force has ordered 42, and will be the first who order this version, made with improvements from what was not good enough during the war in Syria. Algeria makes a very smart move to order these helicopters, they already have one of the best air force in Africa, with these they will greatly strengthen the air force a lot.

They don't compare really, a more appropriate comparison is the AH-64 vs the Mi-28. The Ka-52 would be better compared with the AH-1Z Viper as they have more similar roles (CAS, armed patrol, search and destroy)

I might go with 1 F16A against 2 Mig 23, 1 and a half Mig 29A.. But getting 2 KA-52 for the price of 1 Apache: looks like a great deal, except for factor of yearly maintenance and lifespan. I wonder how these factors would affect a decision..

Also sensors are important. The Apache E can engage multiple non line of sight targets which is something the KA-52 might not be able to do.

@@orlock20 I highly doubt your assumption.. Russians Archer R-73 Infrared AA missiles could be fired 45 degrees off bore sight long before the American Sidewinder could in 2002. It's highly not probable the Russians could not have achieved that capacity for Air to ground missile at least for one of all possible guidance systems. Anyways, may they never have to be employed in real combat..

On Russian helicopter that even I an American patriot loves is the Hind. That is a well proven weapon of war. It may not be as agile as the apache or the alligator but when that sob stepped into the ring it didn't come to play it came to fight! I believe that if the Hind was still in operation today it could give both the Apache and the Alligator a good fight.

You lack one more info on the Aligator. It has a cabin at the back that can accomodate 4 personell or for rescuing downed pilots. Same with Mi 28Havoc with 2.more seats for rescuing downed pilots and Mi 24Hind capable of carrying 8 troops.

and regarding safety. Ka-52 is the only one helicopter in the world with pilots' ejecting system. So, crew can leave helicopter safely in case of trouble. Americans can't do anything similar.

Who in the world is building graphs like that? Check your service ceiling graph. If you don't look close enough, you may think that Apache's ceiling is 2x+ higher than Alligator's, while it's less than 30%. I can see that Y-axisnstart from 5000m, but why the hell you try to represent it in such confusing way? When i was in 6th class, we been taught that thks kind of representation is a mistake.

Apache looks good in Hollywood movies and fought opium farmers in Afghanistan and separatists in Syria who used vans with AK-47s and no air defense systems. whereas the KA-52 is fighting on a real battlefield in Ukraine which has a modern air defense system.

Apache is weak because they have tail rotor, but K-52 not, and if apache is hit, pilot(s) is die, but K-52 hits pilot(s) launch.

Why not compare the AH64 Apache to the Mi28 Havoc? The Apache has nothing in common with the Alligator in my opinion bcuz they are two different classes of attack helicopters! Does anyone know the operating costs per hour of each helicopter i.e. apache vrs alligator. the nearly 50% less price of ka-52 sounds very tempting however it seems india bought apache for drone networking capabilities. however, ka-52 is also on india's list to buy down the road.

Apache doesn't stand a chance against Ka-52 since it's almost impossible to hit enemy helicopter with Hellfire but for an experienced pilot it's very easy to do so with Vikhr since it has proximity fuze and btw Apache can only 30 flares which means it can evade 1 or maybe 2 AA missiles but Ka-52 carries 4 AA missiles and 4 times more flares

The first on the list is horse power. Ka-52 is stronger. The second is payload. Again the Ka-52 is still stronger. Go now to maneuver ability, the stronger engine craft has an advantage especially in adverse conditions. Come now to defensive system. Both are protected with Ka still having a slight advantage. Now on weapons systems non can launch an ICBM.

У к 52 скороподьёмность 16м/с, это больше чем у Апач. Сама схема с двумя винтами сверху придумана для увеличения скороподьёмности и скорости. Но при этом вертолёт существенно теряет в длительности по времени нахождения в воздухе и расстоянии полёта на одной заправке, и они очень трудоёмки и дороги в производстве . К 52 вообще не корректно сравнивать с Апач, это совершенно разные машины. Апач нужно сравнивать с Ми 28 например.

I hate these one on one comparisons. Units rarely work alone, in combined arms. With fighter protection, radar and data links, do you think the Apache is going to come off second best ? Also, the pilot / gunner puts fair less strain on the workload of the pilots.

Basically the price difference mans that a nation can have twice as many Ka-52's as HA-64's for the same money. So a nation that has a lot of potential pilots like India should go with the KA whereas a nation like Israel that has a shortage of people but plenty of money should go with the AH.

On a one to one aerial fight basis, I afraid it had to go to America as usual. Without the privilege of accesding detailed information, based on the information given, the AH 64 wins on two grounds: 1: rotor being able to withstand anti aircraft ammunition instead of mere "small arms, two: being able to fly 1000 M higher means easier to fly/run away!! Sorry if you were a fan of Russia, I think America wins again.

Its actually the opposite...The Ka 52 doednt have a tail roater so its more resistent to ground fire. Also the KA 52 has a confirmed higher altituted range I think they switched information

Attack helicopters want to stay low, not high. The reason for the high ceiling of the Apache is so it can fly over tall mountains found in places such as Afghanistan. Being low allows them to use ground clutter as shields and makes it harder for the enemy to get a good angle of attack.
