I remember driving through a rural section of southeast Arizona in early Spring. The highway was lined on both sides with beautiful orange poppies. I think it was highway 191. It was one of the most beautiful roadway sights I'd ever seen, and I want to return to see it again. I'm hoping all of the recent monsoon rains will help bring a beautiful Spring to Arizona.

In the 80's my family lived in Safford, AZ. I went skiing in Show Low and when I cam back, I saw the map that 666 (renamed to 191) seemed like more of s straight shot. Maybe if I was a bird. It was beautiful, but there was no civilization for over 100 miles. I saw the occasion car in the opposite direction with a Christmas tried tied to the roof. The thing that was worrisome was the switchbacks up and down the mountains. The downward sides in the shadows were icy and there was no guardrail. A bit scary. I'd like to do it again before I expire.

191 was once the 666 going through my home town of Safford. My Dad and cousins worked at the largest copper open pit mine in the world in Morenci. Little tid bits that you didn't mention.

My Dad was in Safford for a very short time around 1960. He didn't stay because he was having heart problems. I have never been there.

It's the SB journey on the Coronado Trail that'll repeatedly take your breath away. Upon completion, we pulled into a bar in the outskirts of Safford, AZ…the bartender asked where we were from. We told her & explained we'd just come down the CT. Unsolicited, she fixed us up with 2 shots of Tequila & congratulated us. She'd lived there her entire life & still, had not come DOWN the Trail "too horrifying" she said. And it was.

Thanks for the feedback! Always cool to get extra details in, even the little ones like having 2 cameras running so one can get audio :)

@@shoveI Thanks for the response. I was tempted to ask how you captured the audio. I picked up a mini 2 a few weeks back as an introduction to the hobby, and quickly realized how important audio is for immersive quad footage.

@@taylorhickman84 You're not kidding! I'm still new to this, it's all a hobby and kind of a Macguffin to get out of the house and play around but good sound is absolutely as important as good video - in fact I think people will put up with almost unwatchable footage as long as the sound is good but not the opposite. There are probably videos about this topic, now that you mention it I think I'm going to look for it and try to get better - but it's difficult to get authentic audio with a drone because of all the noise the drone makes. I got the train audio because the drone was far above me and the train is crazy loud.. I'm guessing for other situations you probably have to substitute audio that you record before or after you fly the drone, or even add in sound effects in editing just to help with storytelling. We all love the idea of authenticity whenever possible but you just can't have a mic close to a drone and not pick up the buzz! That shot in particular was recorded with a Kodak SP1 action camera, I was just standing about 10 feet from the tracks with it while my brother in law operated the drone. The SP1 has stereo microphones which is nice for an action camera. Since then I've bought a much nicer microphone & proceeded to barely ever leave the house :) Fingers crossed we can all safely come out of hibernation this year!

@@shoveI The stereo conveys well even on my laptop, and was a bit reminiscent of Pink Floyd. I'll have to rewatch on my home theatre.
