What makes America so incredible is the people within it, not the ones who govern them. The declaration of Independence is why, and the Constitution is how we keep Americans free from tyranny. If other countries were a democratic republic with a free market economy, we'd see them become almost as incredible as our country is. We can thank our founding fathers for developing the greatest place in the world.

There was only one night game a year. On the Fourth of July, the whole sky would brighten up with fireworks, giving us just enough light for a game. We played our best then because, I guess, we all felt like the big leaguers under the lights of some great stadium. Benny felt like that all the time. We all knew he was gonna go on to bigger and better games, because every time we stopped to watch the sky on those nights like regular kids, he was there to call us back. You see, for us, baseball was a game. But for Benjamin Franklin Rodriguez, baseball was life.

@DeGrate-bb5bo4 жыл бұрын
Daniel O'Connor, the "beauty" is not a physical beauty. America is no more or less physically beautiful than any other place. It's beauty is in its documents--its promise of democracy--"if [Americans] can keep it." Probably more than all of us, Ray Charles has seen/felt/experienced the fault lines and hypocrisy with which many practice those documents.

I don't believe I've ever heard of anyone else only Ray singing America the Beautiful. Every time I hear this song by Ray I feel the love of God and his grace upon me. America is the only chosen country other than Israel in the world, it is here for a reason. It is to be a righteous country. God has promised us if we would only remember Him and repent He would protect this nation . The United States is a nation under God and when that changes we will be destroyed as a nation. I believe we are in the beginning stages now.

Oh beautiful, for heroes proved, In liberating strife, Who more than self, our country loved, And mercy more than life, America, America, may God thy gold refine, Till all success be nobleness And every gain devined. And you know when I was in school, We used to sing it something like this, listen here: Oh beautiful, for spacious skies, For amber waves of grain, For purple mountain majesties, Above the fruited plain, But now wait a minute, I'm talking about America, sweet America, You know, God done shed his grace on thee, He crowned thy good, yes he did, in a brotherhood, From sea to shining sea. You know, I wish I had somebody to help me sing this (America, America, God shed his grace on thee) America, I love you America, you see, My God he done shed his grace on thee, And you oughta love him for it, Cause he, he, he, he, crowned thy good, He told me he would, with brotherhood, (From sea to shining sea). Oh Lord, oh Lord, I thank you Lord (Shining sea).

No, it should not. That song is a about a very dark day in our fight against the British empire. A day In which, against all odds, we persevered, and the flag still flew. It still flew because it was being held up by the bodies of our dead soldiers. All that said, if that wasn't our anthem, this should be.
