yeah Ventura Highway is their best IMO. Make sure you do the original version NOT the re-engineered one from around 2000 because they put too much reverb in it and ruined the vibe of the song.

For his last job, my father was a crew supervisor on the third shift (11 PM to 7 AM) at a lumber processing plant. Most of the employees that he supervised were around my age range at the time (just out of high school to early 20s). One of the ways that he would bond with his crew was he would play music he liked and, in turn, they would play different genres or more recent music that they liked. The one song that they all loved, initially presented by my father, was "Sister Golden Hair" by America. As a joke, one of my father's crew hooked up a CD player to the factory's PA system. He played the song on repeat for a good 30 to 45 minutes. As it was in the wee hours of the night/morning (so no bosses were there besides my father and perhaps one other crew supervisor), everyone loved it playing over the PA system throughout the entire factory. It became the tradition that at one point in the night that my father and his crew were working, someone had to fire up the CD player and blast "Sister Golden Hair" throughout the factory. It's truly fascinating how the most random music can bring so many different people from different areas and different walks of life together in the same place at the same time.

"Oz never did give nothin' to the tin man that he didn't, didn't already have" is actually a clever way of saying you don't need validation from other people. There aren't a lot of lyrics in this song, but those few lyrics paint a vivid picture.

The gift of gab means someone or people who like to talk and share stories. So in the lyrics, late at night when things are real and people share the gift of gab among themselves... they're having real, deep conversations as people are wont to do when it's very late. :)

Yep. That's a fantastic, yet unforced, lyrical line from Dewey. The days before internet, big screen TV and the constant blast of such distractions. NW0 face diapers 😷 and mandatory "lockdowns" indeed make it increasingly difficult for people to closely relate and share the gift of gab between themselves. And Oz never gave nothing to the Tin Man that he didn't already have? That's right, he already had all along that which he desired so badly.

Just watched Wizard of Oz when I was off, in January. Hadn't seen it for awhile. Felt like a kid again. We have a radio program in Kenosha and they use the intro of this as their intro. Another mellow/put you in a trance song. Ooo interesting - you think he sounds like he's rapping. Very cool! Aw... You all have good voices, even when you sing! (Nick, your deep voice and accent - you have the best speaking voice!) ❤No Demosh ❤ You have lost it, with the cat...😂😂😂 Yes there are little dings, throughout. Man, their harmonies!!!! "Taylor made for Ryan". You have the Gift of Gab also means = You talk a lot. Hope you weren't hurt when they pushed you... Great Reaction!!!

Gift of gab means being a great conversationalist. Being able to converse well with others. I'm glad you commented on the Tin Man's heart and how he always had a heart. Oz could never give him what he actually had. This also goes for the Scarecrow wanting a brain and the Lion wanting courage. They had a heart, they had brains, and they had courage. What they didn't have was belief in themselves.
