The question is, are they also going to improve their economy class experience and replace current domestic first class seats with these new premium economy seats? If they do, that may put them ahead of what Delta and United currently has on offer, otherwise Delta probably still has the edge overall.

Glad to see AA stepping it up; it'll spur competition in the US market for other carriers to also include more premium cabin offerings. It'll be interesting to see what routes they'll be flying the A321XLR with this more premium config.

The seat looks like what JetBlue currently has in Mint on their JFK-LHR route. For the A321Ts, the product might be excessive for a 5-6 hour flight. Not sure if it can bring in the revenue similar to Flagship First struggles to sellout the cabin with full fare paxs. I do think the PE product is part of the market that will be good for AA on the transcon routes.

It's great to finally see some modern premium products from an American airline, instead of the usual 'look at our new product' and it already feels dated when compared to their competitors. This is really nice and will be great to see how it holds up inflight for travellers.

Looks pretty great. Though, when airlines talk about enhancing customer experience in the front of the planes, it seems the misery increases exponentially behind the curtain - thinner, narrower seats and sub-30" pitch on legacy carriers. Of course, the ULCC's take that as a challenge and really cram them in.

With the 321xlr, American would have much more premium only flight options to alot more long haul destinations in that layout.

I would want those winglets on the premium economy to be able to move out of the way. If you are traveling with someone you know, you will have to lean forward to talk. This will mean the two people sitting next to you will lean forward and then leans back causes them to make all three seats move. Very annoying.

@@_1Brick1_ They are scrapping "Flagship First" company-wide. They will eliminate it on the 777-300 as well. It's a cost-saving measure. The idea is, they can eliminate ANOTHER flight attendant for all the routes that have Flagship First and unify it to a Flagship Suite (Business Class). They eliminated a Flight Attendant for pandemic reasons already, they get to eliminate 2 by switching out the service. They can also eliminate an entire cart pack from catering. So the catering that the 777-300 gets will be the same as the 777-200 and the pack on the 321 Transcon will also have the same pack. So catering at DFW, MIA, JFK, LAX, SNA and SFO will remove the entire Flagship First menu, making it cheaper only having to pack domestic 1st and MC/Flagship Suite-international Premium economy and international MC (and hawaii). That means the plated food will be the same pre-plated food in BC, the stemware will be gone, the high-end wine choices will be gone, and the plating and table linens will be the same as BC. It also means they can remove an entire galley from both aircraft to make room for more seats. They have an extra galley dedicated to just Flagship First on the 777-300 and the 321T. Taking out that galley makes each aircraft lighter which saves money, and having more seats makes money. They may give the menu a makeover to roll out with the new suites but it's going to be the same Business Class product.

All fine and good, but where will they be used? In April I flew DFW to LIM in Business on an A321. It was a seven hour flight, and it was awful. The seat had poor pitch, no leg rest, limited recline and the seat cushion was very, very hard. In short, the flight was extremely uncomfortable - and remember, I was in business class. The catering was also woefully small and very limited, and again, inadequate for seven hours' flight time. This hard and soft product might be okay for a 3 hour domestic leg, but they were deplorably inadequate for such a long flight. But AA insist on putting the A321s on these longer international sectors. I have repeat business trips to LIM coming up. I will NOT be choosing AA for them.

I think that there has been no consideration for People with Disabilities. What is the consideration individuals for people that transfer from their wheelchair. There needs to be some real changes in thinking if we are going to be truly barrier free for all people. Is the Accessible Parking on the plane? There is a legal requirement at the airport, why do airlines get to ignore it on planes. With existing, tested and approved technology, a wheelchair space is easily achievable. Slightly reduced profits is not an acceptable reason. Please, if you concur, bring up the question to airline employees on your next flight.
