Need the XLR to fly to California? It can fly all the way to Hawaii. The standard A321neo can get to San Diego, forget about the LR. I was surprised Air Canda only restarted flights between Hongcouver and Singapore this year, but with incompetent execs like this it makes sense.

I don't understand why they need this for North American routes. The regular A321neo would give them the entire continent anyway. But they opted for the 737 Max instead of going with the Neos. Although AC already operated the A320 family before. I bet they regret that decision!

If you mean the map shown, not really. And you have to keep in mind at least one, better two diversion destinations too. But Senegal should be fine with these reserves taken into account.

ETOPS certification has to do with the airline, its governing body for its nation and the route structure. There’s no one size fits all answer but in short to answer your question….. yes it does.
