It was born in 1943 as a radio station, being separated from one of its current competitors, and launched a TV station in 1948 that would forever change how Americans would see television. With it being the most important TV station IN THE WORLD, the American Broadcasting Company (commonly referred to as "ABC") has its interesting share in visual identifications.

13:01 Innocently thought that ident was a part of ABC's main branding, and later found out that it was part of the intro sequence for _The Movie of The Week_ . That's what happens when you recently start with a CollageTV on the USA. 🙃

Well this is quite amazing! You included full length animations of all the 1940s-60s campaigns and idents, didn't skip ANY of the eras, included some that were never seen before, but most importantly, you finally included the long lost 1991-92 America's Watching campaign with the rest of them!!! Bout damn time!!! 😃😃😃🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽

Not to be confused with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation formerly known as the Australian Broadcasting Commission in Australia and TV5 Network, Inc., formerly known as the Associated Broadcasting Corporation and the Associated Broadcasting Company also known by its corporate trade name as the ABC Development Corporation in the Philippines.

So many memories watching these idents…………..in 2011 on KZfaq. My favorite one that I remember is the 2018-2021 ident. Favorite one overall is between the 1991-92 and 1992-93 ident.

As baby boomer cool to see so many of the promos from late 60s and mid 70s. Those were most memorable for me.

ABC moved forward when it started bringing shows in color. Took time and money. ABC Sports were tough to beat,like college football.

De hecho, ese era uno de los Collages planificados para estrenarse el año pasado, más específicamente en julio (porque en 2021 la NBC cumplió 95 años, contando los que tenía sólo en radio). Sin embargo, una serie de contratiempos (incluyendo el cambio del Lenovo Ideapad al HP Pavilion a fines de dicho mes) hicieron que no se publicara. Voy a intentar publicar el Collage lo más pronto posible, una vez que termine el que estoy preparando en este momento (y si no me llega a la duración de Collage grande, como los de TVN, Canal 13 o Sky One, voy a ver si me mando un extra de la NBC Nightly News, su noticiero principal).

I have heard, but this may not be true, is that Terry Bennett (Chicago ABC affiliate personality) designed the "Large a" part of the ABC logo used from 1956-1962.

Always liked the one at 1:48, with the eagle and shield. I wish they would bring back a modernized version of it. The big lowercase a with the abc in it was always kind of blah and forgettable to me (it came right before they adopted the dot with ABC in it...which is their best known branding.

If we are all honest. Most affiliates have the number 7 as it's channel number. So it's safe yo say Disney made ABC America's channel 7

The new season (fall) campaigns go back to before television when they competed on radio. If you are talking specifically about the ABC fall preview special I believe the 64 season??

@@cactusjackNV I meant to ask if 1967 was the first annual campaign with a jingle or song or musical number. ABC was the first to do it around 1967 while it seems like NBC and CBS didn’t do it until the 70s (haven’t seen anyone upload anything earlier). Most TV stations seemingly continued to do this until the early 90s. ABC and NBC stopped after the 1993 season and CBS held out until about 2000.
