I hate to see these dogs being trained to be aggressive. With gentleness, and proper socialization, they are not aggressive, and make wonderful family pets. I own an American bulladore, half American bulldog, half Labrador retriever. I adopted him from a shelter. He is a very affectionate, sweet, gentle dog, who wants nothing more than to be a 45 pound lap dog, snuggling and getting petted on my lap. One thing though, he has the stubborn streak that is rather common to bulldogs, so it takes a lot of patience to get him trained to the way things are done here, like coming when he is called, but he is learning slowly but surely. I have a small farm in the mountains of Tennessee, and when I let him out, he is free to roam my pastures and into the woods on the mountain above my place. I don't think he has ever known such freedom, and that is why he took a while to learn to come when I called him, but he always returned in a little while, and now has learned to come when called.

I have a fawn. Name's Bailey. Eats like there's no tomorrow. Mainly eats leftover food. Every visit to Costco I buy him a whole chicken for him. He's aggressive when he has to n gentle when I'm around. I have two kids, 12year old boy n 7 year old girl, very careful with them. Take him on long walks. First dog I've own. Overall great family dog.

Iv not long had my baby girl and she has got some drive in her, she has a better nose than my other dog can imagine she would be a good tracking dog and she is a very intelligent 9 week old n basic commands like sit, paw, lie down and go to bed have already been aced. I see a great future with this new addition to our family she will be kept active by weight pulling

Just got my baby boy today...sadly mom passed away 3 days after giving birth to 7 pups...sadly lost 3 siblings days later..3 was given to the HMS..and guess what I got my baby boy..a lil under weight..but thriving well..on SPECIAL Formula for baby boy..I named him Bandit..he has the Bat Man ..Robin mask on his fur pattern around the eyes ..yes he looks as if he's stealing but if he is .it's a hug..cuddle from you..lovem to pieces.. LOVE HIM

AM is not for just anyone just because they look strong and cool. Very expensive to own. With age comes a lot of health issues. I've owned a few rescued AM. Best dogs ever but do your research it might not be for you. Thank God for pet insurance.

I have a American bulldog of my own it's hyper but puppy energy is always a tough thing to handle aha~... And I also have a boxer and a jack russell/poodle ((: but once I got my American bulldog my boxer kept attacking it and making it get scars and making it bleed, it's better now since they are playing and being the best friends like they always are now I guess . I think he was just attacking her since he had to accept her into the family I guess ;-;

becarefull you dont get a amer, bull pit mix. they could look almost identical and i had one and i have been at training since 81 , and though i loved this dog he had fear agression and had to have him leashed if one came over.he was so nervouse his eyes and face turned reddish and finally from over exitement he laid down and ied. i shouldnt have wrote this i loved the dog and in my house he was an aggel but in my mom's house he became so over agressive even at me, and it wasn't all his fault my mother was aggresive toward me and would shack a rag at me and say get out of her house. if you have this or really any breed both owners must be on the same level and never as my mother did inadvertantly taught the dog to go at me especially when leaving the day he died he wanted to come up to my apartment with mom but she wouldnt let and blocked him with a chair and in 10 minutes he was o upset he got an acute heart attack. if she let me keep him upstairs he wouldn't had died like that, but he loved my mom too much and only wanted her and she hurt his feeling so bad it killed him. She is older know and has two rescues small dogs . right before my dogs died the one from heart attack and a sweet amer. staffordshire terrier from old age 15 years old. i opened my door one day before my dogs dyed and a grayish brownish dog was tanding at my door he came right in i let him out he ran down the block and came back to me. he had an english buldog tale but a pit type body and non pushed in nose and and round head with peculiar green eyes he ran up and went to sleep on the bed it was night and he slept with me. i called the rescue the next day and they said he is a definate keeper. i think about him often and kick myself for not keeping him, i just didn't think i could handle it with the 2 other big guy's. i should have kept him.

This video is horrible and a perfect example of people that should never own this breed. These dogs are natural protectors and they don't need this horrible treatment to make them protectors. It causes a breakdown in the healthy and loyal relationship with their humans and so makes them undesirable for families. It may be helpful for police K-9 work or military duty, I have no idea about that. Maybe others can comment on that. However, I would never accept a dog that has been treated that way to be incorporated into my family. And yes, the music sucks.
