You’re suppose to pour fish sauce all over the crepe dish or use fish sauce as a dip, that’s why it was bland 😂 but awesome video!

Also you should eat it right away when u get it home cause if ot cools down it takes away the freshness and crispy also wrap it in a lettuce then dip it on the fish sauce it's very good

Vietnamese will take part of the Banh Xeo and wrap it with lettuce and some fresh herbs and dip in the special fish sauce(that should come with the dish).

I was gonna say, I would eat that first because on the streets of Vietnam, they're served to you straight from the pan when they're still crunchy (Almost like a hard taco shell - The name of the dish is Bánh xèo - xèo being the sizzling sound when it is cooked). If it's soggy then it's no longer good :(

As a Vietnam veteran, I can confirm the French influence there. Still lots of French words used in everyday conversation. My pick for the next country would be Brazil.

The French influence is minimal. Only a few dozen French words are used regularly and cuisine is much more influenced by Southern Chinese and ethnic tribes.

Try food from Senegal please!!!! You will love the tieboudienne (our national meal), chicken yassa, ngalakh, tiacri, ataya (mint tea) and café Touba (spiced cofee). We also have healthy and yummy juices like bissap( sorrel juice) and bouye (baobab juice).

You're supposed to wrap the Banh Xeo in lettuce and then dip it into fish sauce! That's why it's not overpowering by itself. Glad you liked everything else though!

I LOVE Vietnamese food! These are my go-to's - BO LA LOT: Grilled marinated beef and pork wrapped in an aromatic Hawaiian leaf. GOI CUON / SPRING ROLLS: Shrimp and peanuts. 177 SELF WRAP GRILLED BEEF - Self Wrap Rice Paper with Marinated Sliced Grilled Beef, Lettuce, Cucumber, Cilantro, Mint, Basil, Steamed Rice Noodles & Homemade Sweet & Sour Fish Sauce. TOM - SUGARCANE SHRIMP: Ground shrimp wrapped around sugarcane and grilled. GOI DU DU - GREEN PAPAYA SALAD: Carrots and onion tossed with shrimp and pork, hot mint with peanuts. Goi, Nhung Dam, Cha Dum, Bo Mo Chai, Bo Nuong Sa and Chao. Things to drink - SODA CHANH: Limeade with seltzer, SODA SUA HOT GA: Club Soda, Condensed Milk - Egg Yolk. You should try our Sugarcane drink.For the crêpe which is supposed to dip it in the fish sauce. And it’s pork. In pho It could be tendon or pizzle.

Beef pho is eaten with the white noodles and the beef broth. The yellow egg noodles (mi) should be eaten with the chicken broth. There's also chicken pho but, again, that's eaten with white rice pho noodles. I think you guys mixed up your dishes and forgot to squeeze the lime into your soup. The banh xeo (crepe) needs to be eaten while hot and crispy with fresh lettuce and herbs and dipped into a dipping sauce (nuoc cham). The last dish is a Chinese thing.

10:54 they don’t gave u the fish sauce? The right way to eat is put the piece of cake into the rice paper with borecole then roll it together. Dip this roll into sauce fish and enjoy, if have the next time u can try this way to eat bánh xèo 😄

Your might want to try Vietnamese egg rolls and spring rolls. Don’t forget to dip in the sauces.Also, beef stew, you can eat with either bread or rice noodles. . By the way, egg rolls should eat as soon you got it for crunchiness.Enjoy

I commend the effort. Aside from the banh mi, you chose food items that needs to be eaten immediately or re-heat prior to serving when taking to go. i.e. you would need to bring the pho broth to a boil, etc..

I LOVE your video, but pho should be served piping hot and brought up to a nice boil first before pouring over, slightly heat noodles and ingredients in a bowl, then pour, you'll thank me later ;) also Banh Xeo should be serve right away wrapped it lettuce and fish sauce to dip

But I have to say that perhaps you enjoy Pho isn't in the best way cuz seems like in this video the Pho isn't hot at all and the best Pho is the hot Pho.

banh xeo is a Vietnamese savory crispy crepe. inspired by the french, since the french did colonized vietnam. your suppose to wrap the it in lettuce and herbs and dip it into the fish sauce

Mì thập cẩm- Me tup guhm (mean combination/mixed egg noddles) Mì xào giòn thập cẩm - Me sao yon tup guhm ( means combination/mixed, crispy/crunchy egg noodles) giòn means crunchy or crispy Bánh xèo- Bun sehw ( considered a vietnamese crepe, same idea. It looks like an omelet but has no egg in it. Its rice flour and turmeric which gives it the yellowish color. Pro tip: if you are ordering pho to go, when you get home, throw the broth in a pot and bring it to a boil before pouring it over the noodles. That is the proper way to eat it. Don't throw it all in the microwave, it'll ruin the noodles. 👍 Don't want to get super politcal but the flag you guys are talking about is the Vietnam socialist republic flag which is flown in vietnam, and only vietnam. There is the south vietnamese freedom flag that is yellow with 3 red stripes. The yellow represents the fields and the 3 red stripes represents the unifying blood that runs through the north, central, and south. This is the flag that is flown in vietnamese communities in the us. It represents the souths fight to be free of the communist regime and oppression. My father was a south vietnamese lieutenant.

hey... before you guys eat pho, you have to heat it up first. If the pho is not hot enough is won't taste that good, but be careful though don't get burn when you eat a hot pho...
