Filipinos got used to utilizing every part of the animal out of necessity. During Spanish colonial times, the Spanish masters ate the choice parts of the livestock being served. The Filipino servants were left with the unwanted parts of the animal - offal, legs, feet, face, anything that the masters didn't or refused to eat. That's how Filipinos started eating intestines, blood, chicken feet, and the other leftover parts.

I gope you get to try the mango when it's in season. You can smell the fragrance through the smooth yellow skin. If it's out of season it might have been forced to ripen and it's just not the same. Also whwn it's a darker yellow and starting to get spots that's the sweetest. Guimaras mamgoes are the best.

Just a heads up, I know some of Filipinos might get offended by your reactions to some of our food. I know you don’t mean any disrespect, just don’t do all those “gagging sounds” and saying the food is disgusting. Just keep it to yourself to avoid people going after you because it will come out as disrespectful to us filipinos and we have different cultures and you guys are not used to it so you don’t understand. We don’t force you to eat or like our food, just don’t make any inappropriate comments about it. Filipinos are sensitive when they feel their food/culture are being disrespected by foreign people. If you are aware of how tons of filipinos all over the world defended Jollibee, bash and leave hate comments on Benny Blanco’s tiktok and ig accounts because of the way he disrespected Jollibee. You will know how much filipinos value our food/cultures and won’t hesitate to go after anyone who disrespects it as a one nation. I know you guys are good people, so I’m just letting you know so that you can avoid getting hate from some Filipinos. I don’t want you guys to get cancelled. If you guys are going to the Philippines, try not to show the gag reflex to people. (It would be disrespectful for us.) You are not used to eating what you are seeing because it is not in your culture to use every part of an animal. To us it is wasteful to throw away parts of an animal that can be eaten. And it isn't as if we are eating those parts raw, you know. So those are seasoned with spices that would make them edible and delicious (for us Filipinos) otherwise they wouldn't be popular street food. You can avoid eating those things and other Filipino dishes. But if you stick to American or Western, or other Asian food (popular there), your dollar wouldn't last because you'd be buying "imported" food which are expensive in the Philippines.

A lot of people in the Philippines they ate (chicken) organs, head and feet (pork) organs It's a way of survival. But also when you encounter indigenous tribe that hunts wild chicken or boar they won't throw away those parts it's giving appreciation to the life of the wild chicken or boar that you hunt. Nothing go to waste and those parts are the food of the hunters they even cook blood know as dinuguan. And the meat is for the there families in there tribe. Well it's a dying culture since it's rare that a clan elder make a hunting party to hunt on the wild but now those foods have been adapted on the foods you can buy on the streets.

I love Doobydoobop is so good. She's funny and witty and she knows her stuff. She had a restaurant in Korea with her bf but sadly, they had to close it down. But she's so funny. Now, the thing with balut, specifically, it's one of those foods where the the look to taste ratio is waaaay off the scales. Honestly, it does taste good. It's just the mental challenge of the look. You'd be surprised that you may just like it if you try it. The green mangoes they ate is unripened , so it's more crunchy, more on the sour side with a hint of sweetness. Yes, we do have THE BEST mangoes in the world. Especially in Guimaras (ghee-mah-rahs) has the best mango in the Philippines and in the world. They dont allow mangoes to be brought into the island. Honestly, the innards, they're really not that bad. Of course it has to be cleaned properly but the bbq that they ate isn't bad at all. I know people have their limits but again, you just might be surprised because your experience will be so different in the Philippines. Also, we call it Adidas because the chicken feet resembles the three stripes. Anyhow, just saying, give it a chance. Youll be surprised. "Don't yuck my yum" lol😅

lol I found the reaction to the exotic chicken parts hilarious. i totally get why you would freak out having two foreign brothers in law who are equally very vocal. dont worry you can have the regular pork skewers or grilled fish whatnot. bagoong from that region is mainly made of fermented krill and its a hit or miss for me as sometimes it could be too salty or pungent for my taste so i just take them green mangoes home to pair with my favorite bagoong which i sometimes make myself. you'd be surprised to see mangoes and bananas here, we have them in various shapes and sizes, color and textures. i find the smaller the banana the sweeter it is. Philippine Carabao mangoes among the sweetest in the world can only be fully enjoyed here because its very hard to export. the thin skin and flesh can get bruised easily. we only export it dried or pureed. im not a fan of balut either but i am of kwek-kwek which I think youve seen in other videos...too bad Jessica didnt feature it on this video of hers. well thats it from me. have a good one!

Hahaha looking forward to your vlog challenging yourselves to eat balut and isaw (say EESAHW) paired with our majestic water plus karaoke. The bago-ong in Northern Luzon is fermented fish but the one in the video (with mango), we call it aramang (alamang in Tagalog) is shrimp paste. This RV made me salivate. I miss street food PH. 😋🤤

Hehehe! It's fun to see your reaction to Jessica Lee's video. There are certain foods here that I don't eat as well. Hahaha! I haven't tried chicken head (and not going to...EVER!) I don't like eating the "baby duck" in the balut either. I just drink the soup and eat the yolk part and that's it. 😉 Not fond of bagoong because I am allergic to it. If you guys have allergies, just be aware and always ask the ingredients that were put in the food first. Oh, some people have sensitive stomachs too. To be on the safe side, drink mineral water. Always bring your own water. I hope you guys will have a Filipino friend here who will show you around Philippines, so you'll know where to go, where to eat, when is the best time to go to certain places, and you will not be fooled by some greedy people who will overprice transpo costs.

Warning: Green mango is sour. It's a Filipino favorite. In my province (where Jessica grew up), we eat green mango with vinegar, soy sauce, salt and optional red chili. The rest of the country eat green mango with bagoong (salty shrimp paste) and now in my province, we eat green mango both ways, with our traditional vinegar sauce or with bagoong. Btw, guys. Actually if you are going to try these street foods just don’t mix it with soda, milk or coke just drink plain water to rinse down your palate and avoid stomach ache, or better have it with beer cause most of the street foods they eat are what we called “pulutan” or a finger foods for beer. But if you are a high blood pressure don’t eat balut with beer cause it is high in cholesterol.

I really like your both reactions on our exotic food but, actually that’s tastier than the meat most specially how they cook it and don’t worry about what you ever thinking like on intestines coz, we clean it well by pulling inside out and cleaning by salt and vinegar then wash and boiled before you cook again, then in chicken feet there have first skin layer that we remove and cleaned also well and remove or cut the nail part 😅 unlike the other country like Thai or Korea that they leave the nails on it.. 😂😂😂 hope you guys try also.. ❤😂 honestly, we are not angry if you don’t like it but, hope you try even one bite.. 😂😅😂❤ enjoy!!! ❤❤ good bless you.. ohhh, also the bagoong is a shrimp paste the smell is not nice but the taste is really great!!! 😅😅😂😂

Chicken head? Nope! Chicken intestines? Nope! Remember, I live here (Philippines), but I still have "mostly" an American palate! Bagoong? Nope! But before all the Filipino's watching get upset with me, I've lived here for 15 years! Keep in mind that I did not say "Yuck", or "Gag". My wife LOVES all this! It's all personal taste and opinion. The gizzard is good! Chicken feet? Nope! (One of my wife's favorite). Balut? Not a chance! (balut is usually NOT chicken, it's baby duck). No one will force you to try anything, but many will expect you to try. If you don't want to, don't! She showcased a LOT of the more "weird" (to us), exotic type stuff. And yes, they are common all over! But, to be fair, there is a TON of Filipino food I will go out of my way to get! Really good stuff! Trust your own judgement!

They are delicious as long as they are well prepared and cleaned you’ll like it. I have not eaten a chicken head before because there’s nothing much to eat from it and it is hard to eat because it has a lot of little bones. Philippines has the sweetest mangoes in the world (yellow mangoes) you should visit Guimaras. But there are a lot of different kinds of mangoes in the PH like, green mangoes, indian mangoes etc. which goes really well if you eat it with bagoong (shrimp paste)
