Wales is by far the smallest nation in the tournament, but we punch well above our weight. The crowd at the Millennium Stadium Cardiff is amongst the most passionate of any crowd from any sport, anywhere. If you wish to follow a nation in the 6 Nations and Rugby World Cup. then follow the smallest nation and put your in with ours.

As a proud Englishman and supporter of the Enfland rugby team, I have the privilege of working on some 6 nations matches and have been pitchside for quite a few at Twickenham, Murrayfield and the Principality. And you're 100% right - the Principality has by FAR the best atmosphere of any sports venue I've ever been to. Powerful but welcoming. Everyone is happy to be there and happy to see good rugby, no matter who wins - and that's what makes the Principality the best place to watch rugby.

As much as I'd like to disagree, it is true. The welsh have a great anthem. Not sure who'd come second? France is good when a crowd is behind them but so is Scotland

@@zachm25 I was on the pitch at Murrayfield when Scotland beat Wales in the 6 nations a few years ago and that was pretty magical ad far as atmosphere goes. In truth all 6 nations have wonderful grounds with fantastic fans, and it's a real pleasure to be at any of them - Wales just edges it slightly as it feels almost like a religious event with the choral singing ringing round the place

The Principality Stadium which used to be called the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, Wales is known as being the best stadium in the world. The atmosphere there is something I've not experienced elsewhere. Cymru am byth.

This years' competition is going as usual...England tell everyone they're going to win and then immediately lose while Wales say nothing and then win every game. In fact, we (Wales) got our highest points tally against them in this competition last week! I think we let them win it last year or the year before because their tears were so regular that they were waterlogging the pitch! 🤣🤣🐏🐑

Man I'm Irish n I love that poem steel by paul henry. I've literally been running into contact during a game saying to myself "I am steel in flight, unstoppable...". You lose your mind playing this game.

Morgan Freeman played Nelson Mandela in the movie Invictus. Its about when Mandela got released from prison and became president of south africa. He used the rugby world cup to inspire all south africans all to get behind their team it was a huge gamble. He visited the team to try enspire them and tell them they needed to win to get the country to back them. They did win the tournament that year and Mandela lifted the webb Ellis trophy to the cheer of millions of south africans. You should watch the movie very inspiring story.

The lion in the clip is because the Lion Rampant (Stood on it's back legs) is the Royal Standard of Scotland which is why it is in there. Just so you can feel more Welsh there is thirty minutes of us being the best in the world and our National Anthem for you to learn ("Mae Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau," - or "Land Of My Fathers".) The Six Nations is often called the best competition in world Rugby and for good reason too. There are so many great rivalries between the teams (Especially Wales v England). This year has been very exciting so far and I would definitely recommend you watch some of the full mates from the first 3 rounds. some of the best being Scotland vs England in round one, Ireland vs France in round 2 and Wales vs England in round 3. Loving the videos. Looking forward to more six nations!!!

Only been to Cardiff a couple of times, but it not being the size of Paris, London, Dublin etc. you can see the massive stadium from nearly everywhere in the city. Was in Cardiff on an international day (vs Canada) and the streets were buzzing.

You need to hear the Welsh national anthem! The one before the Wales vs Republic of Ireland football match is the one I would personally recommend watching the most.

France won the 6 Nations in 2010. It was the last year we won the Grand Chelem ! it was before the 5 Nations : England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland and France The 6 Nations takes place every year in February and March

For a truly inspirational rugby moment you need to go to 2007 Ireland v England in Dublin. The Irish rugby team is an all Ireland team with players from both sides of the boarder so their anthem is Ireland’s Call (if playing at home in front of the Irish president they also play the Irish Republic national anthem l) In 2007 their Irish home stadium was being redeveloped so they played at Croke Park - this has huge political and historic significance. When the crowd sang Ireland’s Call, a united Ireland anthem, the emotion was visible. This is the Gaelic sports stadium, this is for Irish sport not an English introduction, this is the stadium where in the Irish war of independence the British killed or wounded more than 70 civilians.

Hi, I'm from Uruguay, your reactions to Rugby seem great to me, I've been lucky enough to spend 5 years in my youth practicing that sport, you can't imagine what it's like to spend 80 minutes per game on pure adrenaline. Regards.

When that movie was announced bookies would not even take bets on who would play Mandela. Matt Damon as Francois Pienarr was not expected, being about 9” shorter. Damon did a lot of his scenes with Freeman standing on a box and definitely NO long shots.

6 nations is the northern hemisphere top yearly international competition always with the same 6. Rugby championship is the southern hemispheres equivalent with the same 4 teams playing yearly

You should watch the Guinness adverts for the Rugby, they’re some of the most passionate commercials you’ll ever see. The ones for Jonny Wilkinson and Shane Williams are both great. As others have said, you should react to the national anthems sang before games - particularly Wales and Scotland. I don’t believe any sport event in the world reaches the same level of passion or intensity as the biggest Rugby games, especially when it’s played between the old enemies in the British Isles.

There are very few countries in the world more passionate about Rugby than Wales. Its the national sport through and through. I remeber when we last won the grand slam you could hear the cheers all up and down the street.

Agreed, it was epic! 👍 Despite losing, the French team won back the heart of a nation. Their rebirth through resilience and tenacity, after years in shadow truly shows what rugby is about. A sport in which the respect of your opponents and your team mates is a prime value. Will the VI nations cup be ours this year? Let's hope! 😉

Wales and England are currently tied on 39 Titles. If Wales win this Tournament they will be the most successful in history with 40 Championship Titles. Italy and Scotland are the only teams not to have won a Title. In the current format (6 Teams), each team plays each other once. You get 4 points for a win. You can get a bonus point for scoring 4 tries in a single game, so potentially a win can be worth 5 points with the bonus point win. There is also a bonus point for the losing team if they lose by less than 8 points. If the game ends in a draw, both teams share the points and so get 2 points each.

There is also an additional 3 bonus points for achieving the Grand Slam to ensure the team that beats everyone else wins the championship.

To truly understand Welsh history you have to go back to start, we were here first before England and that Reason Wales against England games are so emotional to us Welsh, we beat them back so many times over years tell they took us over and tried to ban our Welsh language we are still not recognised on Briton or UK flags. Welsh pride runs deep because within UK we are our own country we are not represented anywhere else but our country

In terms of titles. Wales 40. England 40. Then comes France around 15 or so back, then Scotland, Ireland and Italy. Wales is the smallest country by far in almost every aspect. Which shows how impressive their record is when compared to others.

This is a video from after Wales won the Grand Slam. (Beat everyone). The actual champion is determined by a point system but going 5-0 will do it. The 6 Nations started in 2000 when Italy was admitted. Before that it had been the 5 Nations since 1910. There were a few years (WW1+2) when it wasn't played. Each game has a particular Cup being played for that travels between those two teams. Other 'titles' are up for grabs. For instance this year Wales won the "Triple Crown" by beating all the other teams in the British Isles. Right now it looks like Wales will win it all unless France can get their 'covid act' together and beat them. It's not like the soccer "Premier League", rugby has its own "Premier League". That's for Clubs. This is Internationals. You do movie reactions too don't you? If so, watch 'Invictus'.

Europe is big on very old rivalries especially against England for the most of us (France, Scotland and Ireland mainly). And it's like being at war on the pitch where supporters stand strongly behind their country team until the last minute (Today I lost my voice when we won in the very last second against Wales denying them the Grand Slam (5/5 wins)). After the game, we become all friends and have a beer with the opponent supporters and redoing the match and laughing (I remember big after match drinks in Dublin with amazing Irish supporters). Long story short, we're enemies for 80 minutes then friends (excepted with the English :D - just trolling them they deserve it !)

Hey don’t beat yourself up most Americans would not be able to name all six teams. The Irish ☘️ are a special case as they select players from two countries, they refused to let civil strife, civil war and partition in 1919 get in the way of their rugby team. They have come on leaps and bounds since professionalism in 1995.
