@@tomabela7949 I don't think it's annoying. It's being honest about the power of the track and the performance, saying it can reach out not only to those who face the underlying issues themselves, but those who don't as well. It creates resonance AND promotes further awareness which is needed.

UK grandmother here. I've watched so many Dave, Black reactions from American's. Just want to say, your understanding of Dave's lyrics and your reaction was wonderful. The last verse was written for this performance (Brit Awards - your Grammy's) and has many British references that you may not have understood. All are worth looking up: Prime Minister (equivalent: your President). Megan and Kate (our Royal family, Megan is an American actress of colour and our UK press were dreadful, constantly comparing Kate and Megan to belittle Megan). Jack Merritt AND Saskia died at the London Bridge Terrorist Attack, trying to disarm the terrorist. Dave got to know Jack because of Jack's involvement with Dave's brother who is in prison - at Jack's funeral the family spoke about the many letters from prisoners praising Jack, who they knew through the Learning Together rehabilitation programme. Saskia and Jack were course coordinators on the Cambridge University programme, which aimed to bring offenders and people in higher education together to "study alongside each other". Greenfell Fire: 72 people died, mostly people of colour. Recent repairs to a tower block were "done on the cheap". After the fire there was a Government enquiry looking into manslaughter and corporate manslaughter, misconduct in public office and breaches of fire safety regulations in relation to the fire. Windrush: Some British citizens who came from the Caribbean after World War II have been treated terribly by our Government. Many were deported, detained, lost their jobs or homes, or were denied benefits or medical care to which they were entitled. A number of long-term UK residents were refused re-entry to the UK, and a larger number were threatened with immediate deportation by the Home Office.

R ToneyReactions mate the fact that there people out there that a willing to find a way to makes a difference shows that there is hope for a better world!!!!!! To show what I had to deal with, my 9 year old autistic son saw me and said “what’s up my N....” he dropped the N bomb and my heart sank. I asked where he hear it and what he thought it meant. He didn’t know it was a nasty word as the KZfaqr he was watched was greeting a friend when he said it. So I played the below link to him: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/esWFa7t9qay-no0.html I the. Asked him what he thought of the word and what it meant, he said it was a nasty word used to make someone feel like they are not human. He won’t use it again and if he sees someone using it he will kick them in the throat to help them understand..... we obviously need to iron out the kinks to a avoid future imprisonments but he understands. The Kaepernick reaction was on point. The best reaction to this tune I have heard. I am Irish, born in the UK, and moved to Blackburn at 18 to play Ice Hockey (a town in Northern England) with 35% Pakistan/Indian/Bangladesh heritage, for 20 years. I embraced all the different cultures and have many friends from all backgrounds. My 25 year old son lives in London, one of the most diverse Cities in the World. Embrace different cultures, it makes you a better person. The more you experience other cultures the better person you become. Nice people are nice people, who gives a shite where they are from. My mother moved to the Manchester, UK in the 60's and there were shops/pubs where she lived that had signs saying 'No Blacks, No Irish , No Dogs'. Taught me to respect everyone.

And he's so young so its exciting to see where he'll go from here. Just fyi, the picture of the guy at the end was Jack Merrit. He and the lady pictured both worked in helping & rehabilitating prisoners even though they're white, upper class, highly educated etc. Jack actually helped Dave's brother & family when he got sentenced to 18 years but sadly Jack was killed last year in a terrorist attack

I rate Dave he did this on the most prestigious Brittan's music awards show do you know how much guts that took. I never heard about this song until four months later. Excellent reaction and analysis. I'm a white metalhead in England, honestly I don't generally enjoy rap. But there are exceptions and I can respect a talented artist and Dave is incredible. Some context for the parts in the last verse that may not have made sense. Maybe you got them all, maybe not, but some of your subs may not know them so hopefully this will help. "Now if you're not gonna get it then you're never gonna get it, how the news treats Kate versus how it treated Meghan" This is in reference to the wives of Princes Will and Harry. Kate Middleton (white) can do no wrong in the eyes of the British media whereas Meghan Markle (black, mixed-race, however you want to state it, not white enough for British media, it's awful) was and is criticised at every available opportunity. To the point that Harry and Meghan have withdrawn from public office and are really no longer affiliated with the royal family. Jack Merritt was a victim of the London bridge terror attack, he confronted the guy and sadly got killed. He was from an affluent background and yet was working in a program that was aimed at improving prisoner rehabilitation. A good guy doing good things. The Windrush generation: After world war 2 the UK was short on a labour force to help rebuild the country and economy. A lot of people from Carribean countries emigrated to the UK, were provided jobs and really helped revitalise and rebuild. I want to hasten to add this was voluntary, not like they were forced to come here or anything. They have lived here ever since, legally. However in 2018 many of them were detained and even deported, some who had been born here! This country owes those people and this is how they got treated, it sickens me. Grenfell Tower. This was a dark day in 2017. A fire broke out in a large Tower Block in a relatively poor area. A number of fuck-ups occurred one after the other and resulted in massive loss of life. It later transpired that there were safety concerns over the cladding on the outside of the tower. Those concerns were ignored. That cladding was the reason the place burnt as quickly and ferociously as it did. The government was responsible for this, whether local or national, it matters not, this should never have happened. Of those who survived, many STILL haven't been rehoused.

The 'least racist' bar is referring to something we hear in the UK alot. We're always told that we should be happy that it's not as racist as the usa or other countries. 'Oh it's not as bad ad it used to be.' Look into how the press treated Megan Markle who is married to Prince Harry vs Kate who is Prince Williams wife (and white).

Yeah that's whats insane! And ppl act as if they didn't notice it!! And I love that line and when he says "equality is cool but it doesn't deserve credit" like we all should be practicing equality anyway!

Stormzy dropped a video for his song Superheroes yesterday which is different but you'd like the message. Also, last night was the Rated Awards (UK Rap Awards) and Kano, one of the forefathers of Grime music, had a powerful performance of his song Teardrops. I would say react to it but his rap style is a little fast and unconventional so sadly I don't think you'll understand most of it. Definitely check it out eventually though.

Great reaction to one of the best performances ever, dave is a breath of fresh air in the corrent music world, you got yourself a new sub. lesley is another hard song to get through from dave, and question time is a more politcal song from him but his words are still accurate regardless of where you are from. shout out from the UK!

Just discovered your channel and subbed from this video - your reaction was awesome! Dave is beyond talented - I can’t watch this performance without crying - and I’m a 45 year old Scottish woman that was a hip hop head back in the 80’s/90’s - I’m so proud of all our young talent in the uk, but especially Dave, he’s special. Probs to his producer too (other guy on the piano) - Fraser T Clark has mentored and guided him through the last few years abs it’s been great to see. What was so amazing about this is that it was a live performance on a huge platform for the uk. The Brit awards are like the uk version of the grammy’s and for Dave to chose this track to play, was just epic! I’m sure others will have explained the last verse in the comments for any non-uk residents, it’s not part of the original track but was super powerful, especially at such a turbulent time! Sending love from Scotland! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Bro your reactions are great, I watched the Fredo Daily Duppy reaction, then Dave's blackbox which I remember the exact place and time I first listened to it in 2015 . I never really got so deep into this Brits performance before, even though my Mum would go on and on about it. Maybe because I usually listen to more hyped up stuff. Really eye opening taking it in properly with you breaking it down. Had to subscribe man keep it up!

By far, my favourite reaction. By far. As a person from the U.K. Dave is a poet. A true artist in every sense of the word. Using his platform to speak from the heart. About the things that matter most. Tackling head on the issue of race. Inequality. And not giving a F who it offends.
