Not bad. I'm sure there's guitar center's where y'all are. Check em out. Their used gear sections often turn up gems. I know I've gotten quite a few. Also Facebook swop & sell. I got an awesome Gibson explorer for $240, plus guitar and bass amps, drums and drum gear relatively cheap there.

American Football is a band that formed in 1997. They were active from 1997-2000 before splitting and then reuniting in 2014. The name comes from a poster which said, "Come see American Football, the most overpaid athletes in the world." When they made this album, they were already planning to break up as they all had different commitments and college classes were ending. The album was recorded in about four days in a studio in Urbana, Illinois. The house on the album is within walking distance of the University of Illinois and has become a landmark for Emo music fans.

totally agree! the devil and god are raging inside me is my favorite album by my favorite band! growing up in a private school and by 8th grade transitioning to public school and seeing the world in a different light really questioned my faith. and that album made me feel not alone in how i felt about my faith at the time. the themes and lyrics are dark and make you question tons of lifes aspects. but through jesus you are saved. God bless you all!

"Wake Up" by Mad Season. Very quiet and introspective, has lyrics that allow multiple levels of interpretation. It was written by a member who was in rehab (like half the band was people who were just coming out of rehab for heroin at the time). Just a song that makes you consider your own life (even if it doesn't necessarily have direct ties to religion).

Use to be fan of American Football, one of the guys from the band Mike Kinsella, went on to do a solo project by the name of Owen. Has a similar sound to AF. If you like military history, you can check out Sabaton. Sabaton is always super popular, and July 19th they release a new album about WWI. I need to edit this to add that I remember hearing about where they got the name for the band, but that was way back around 2009 or 2010, so I forgot where it came from. I'll edit this again once I find the interview where Mike Kinsella is talking about the band.

Do some Dance Gavin Dance! Lots of songs do have foul language but, lyrics are in the description of music videos if you use the Rise Records KZfaq channel. Very Unique. 3 different lead vocalists over the years and a vocalist who does the screaming only. Guitarist is amazing. New song just released a few days ago "Head Hunter" is a hilarious video, with a lot of inside jokes from previous songs etc but it's an old western setting They are immensely talented. Honestly, as a Christ follower, I'm torn about listening to this band because certain other songs have sentimental value for me but a lot of the songs(especially Johnny Craig songs) are about not so wholesome topics. I know the Bible says "its not what goes into a man that defiles him but what comes out" so it would be great to get a pastoral perspective, especially with a brand new song just out.

Maybe i'm a "little" late, but i want to recommend "i see everything" or "king park" from La dispute (not L.A. dispute, it's a french name i think). It has references to Christianity so it could be interesting for you. They are very strong in story telling, the sound is a little bit.... harsch i would say. But i think it fits the lyrics. Other songs i would really like to see a reaction to are "artschool wannabe" from sorority noise and "January 10th, 2014" or "marine tigers" from the world is a beautiful place

Theres a band called King 810. Now my musical taste varied over the years and I stumbled upon them at 37 yrs old. I can easily relate to the feeling that the one I pray so hard to seems to have left me. The vocalist is extremely depressed as he admits, due to a life of ferocious poverty, death, and theres a song called Devil dont cry. Maybe check them out, theres a fair amount of profanity as he is very angry about what's happened to him. Flint Michigan is where they hail. Very heavy, and brutally blunt from the depth of the heart songs. Fair warning. You may be able to reveal what's happening to his faith as he speaks much about God however the lack of His presence in his town and life.

React to Sixx A.m. life is beautiful. This is Nikki sixx band. He is from the 80s group Motley Crue. Very deep song. The album is the soundtrack to his autobiography the heroin diaries.
