This is a old track what is heavily grime inspired as Devlin started out as Grime MC. If you get a chance to see the actual video of this track it shows the real neighbourhood we grew up in. I still live 10 minutes away from the apartment building shown however the have demolished the towers now. Devlin used to be in the Movement with Ghetts, Wretch, Mercston and Scorcher. Peace

The crazy thing was wretch 32 was with him when he wrote this. He was 16 years of age and wrote it within 45minutes. And his answer to it is he just wrote about the things he sees everyday in life, unbelievable artist

A heads up for grime and particularly older grime, it was all about playing around with the flow. Everything is on beat while being kinda off beat if that makes sense lol, they very much had fun with it!

Yes they aren’t are not falling correctly on the snare/ end of bar. So it can sound off to the casual ear. But I see what they are doing. I’m just in unfamiliar territory but I love hearing new stuff like this!!

“Who said I can’t do grime?” Is most of his FITB1 but it’s not censored and it’s different music. I think it’s easier for Americans to understand this one. I’ve just checked and there’s a version of that with the lyrics which definitely makes it better especially the beginning. You know what I’m talking about if you’ve seen FITB1.
