I used to watch American Gladiators as a kid so I knew of some of the Gladiators. Mostly Nitro. That's a name that stuck out to me the most. Also Ice and Laser.

Here after the 30 for 30 on ESPN. So beyond ridiculous that these gladiators got paid jack and got no royalties from the merchandise sales. Also idk what to think of their creator John Ferraro and how he screwed over the co creator Dan Carr

Wow this was such a solid crew of Gladiators. Well Blaze and Diamond were kind of jobbers, though I was in love with both of them especially Blaze. And being jobbers actually made them sexier 😍😍

I remember summer vacation watching reruns on USA. When it was reran on TNN I remember the timeslot was the same time I had to haul lumber so I didnt get a chance to watch it then.

Many fans know that both Hawk and Siren passed away (the latter due to suicide) but Thunder also passed away in August 2021. I don't know the specifics of his death. Ice and Nitro both have Twitter accounts. Nitro wrote a couple books, the first over a decade ago talked about his use of steroids.

Bernard Hoffer (composer for original Thundercats' main theme) had a similar style to the one of Bill Conti. Conti firstly became worldwide known for his contributions to the OST for Rocky, and then the saga as a whole. Then he also worked for OSTs in eventual 80s blockbusters, including the Karate Kid saga and 007's move "Only for the Eyes", as well as the OST for the 1984 Summer Olympics. And, eventually, American Gladiators' main theme.

Entertaining in 1990s, but disturbing in 2020s… Some of the gladiators used steroids. Some got cut since producers saw them as expendable.

Sure did, the series was being rerun when the name change occurred. Before TNN/Spike The USA Network showed it. After TNN/Spike, it was on ESPN Classic to promote the upcoming 2008 revival. Even later, a new channel, Charge, showed both UK and American Gladiators!

The 2008 version could have been good but they should have kept the original theme song and the red white and blue colors they tried to be too dark and edgy and it just flopped over in my opinion

Yes it does. USA version sounds like it's something out of 1960s with the dorky patriotic bullshit theme. Also USA gladiator names sound shite too. Wtf is 'zap'. UK has lightening, Saracen, Wolf for eg.
