Geezer is a really common word especially where they are from in London. It isn’t meant as a joke it just literally means man or guy. Like you would say “look at that geezer” meaning “look at that guy” or it probably more commonly used as a word to give props to someone as in “Bas is a proper geezer, he’s a really nice bloke”.

I'll be honest that I'm not usually a fan of reaction videos but watching you warm to this was fascinating. If it wasn't for the fact that this collaboration is so unique it could just be dismissed as merely a gag. Being a Londoner one can appreciate the banter but these geezers will spread the word.

IDK if anyone will see this but i did some investigating into Pete and Bas and how they started. This is gonna be long but it explains how they met Bas learnt about grime (uk rap music) around 4 years ago through a student he was teaching the piano, whilst Pete (the shorter guy) started listening to drill music through his granddaughter who would turn the radio onto drill music stations around the same time. A year later they met and started working with a spoof/comedy collective called SINDHUWORLD (the indian guy featured in the Old Estate video is also a part of it). sindhuworld would film and produce for them on their earliest songs, like Shut Ya Mouth and Do One. If you go on Genius, SINDHUWORLD is listed as their producer for their first 2 songs. However recently this has changed, in their Lightwork freestyle and the Old Estate track with m24 they had different producers (Kuurtesy / Prod R.F.P & NineOneShots respectively) Since 2018, sindhuworld hasn't reposted any of pete & bas's songs to their twitter account, so there isn't proof that they're writing or affiliated, they also haven't produced anything for them for years as well. Heres where it gets interesting. Bas WAS Sindhu's (the head of sindhuworld) piano teacher, the same student that introduced him to grime. What appears to have happened is that Sindhu's corner shop was selling a drink called "BASil juice" (featuring a photo of Bas) as a joke but they claimed that it was healthy despite having no listed ingredients. As a result Trading Standards decided to shut down the store for health violations. Sindhu wrote a song called "sun shines on you" as a response to try and keep the store open and to make some money. This was in 2017 before Pete and Bas ever made a song. This is where is comes full circle: Pete works for Trading Standards, which is how they met in the first place when Pete would've been investigating the store. Also, according to another interview given, Pete was sent to the store by Trading Standards and Pete heard Bas working on some music. This is how they started working together since Pete has started actively listening to UK drill and hiphop after being shown it by his granddaughter (as previously mentioned), Sindhuworld didn't introduce them together, it was pure coincidence. Pete doesn't have a history of music and given that Bas has the better flow, indicates to me that Bas is the more experienced of them, this also matches with the timeline given as he would've been practising and writing alongside Sindhuworld in 2017, at least a couple months before they released their first song. Their first song is very different in style to now and i figure that through practising and writing with the group in their early years, they were exposed to the slang and culture. Hence why only making music for 4ish years, they're consistent. The whole thing was originally a parody/spoof for fun, but has somehow turned into a career for them and have done live shows in the past and doing a tour later this year. You'll be surprised the lives these old folks had back when they were our age😄 So it may be true. Either way, I never thought I would see some old British guys go off. I'm glad I discovered them😆😆
