v8's dont run close to a 10s quarter mile stock, besides cobra jet, demon. average for modern muscle is about 12-15s that also with them with forced induction stock.

+MrMatt I'm not too technical on the drag part. Only raced about 6 times in my life in a rental impala ss at irwindale. I was led to believe the light bar was there to signal who got to the line 1st. It was on the dodge lane. I don't know what type of racing was going on that night though

TexanHick01 not always. If you know what ricer actually stands for. It's just generally done on imports because they're cheaper and high school kids don't have the money for real upgrades. A muscle car can just as easily be a ricer it's just uncommon.

Sith Nahhhh stock v stock trucks are stupid slow. They need big twin turbo diesel v8 engines in order to compete, and yet still stock like that they're stupid slow. Shit, modded up they're slow as fuck too. I've seen some with tri turbos pushing 130PSI of boost and can barely run 9's hahahaha. Cars with half that boost, especially "ricers" can run 6, 7's lmao. Funny how a 2.0l four banger pisses on your precious "truck" being an engine with 1/3rd of liters and half engine size and half the turbos. 😂 My facts > your opinions/delusions

These videos are fun to watch but it's weird that it seems in there area, the only guys that actually bring imports that are setup for drag racing are the Hondas. 90% of the other imports are just some dudes daily with a few bolt ons against a properly setup Muscle car. IMO, if you have a car that can't at least run low 12's, why bother? Especially of its something like a Subaru that would be fun to autocross or take to the track.

You can buy old civic ,strip it out to metal, mod they engine and do fast time. It a great platform for mods because you don't care about it, strip everything make it lighter, but people with expensive cars won't do it because it their daily, they need AC, AIR bags, radio, and back seats. I will never strip out my Mustang gt but if I have a civic, it will be strip to metal.

Yeah they probably poured 50grand into the cars , either way i think id rather something fast from the factory instead of a highly unreliable modified 4 banger but i guess people find that enjoyable to make a slow eco car fast , i prefer the rumble of a v8 , v8s are the perfect balance and perfect sound in my opinion in the engine size scale i'd take a v8 over a v10 or v12 any day let alone a 4banger no offence to anyone

Brandon Edwards Classic cars in general for me are satisfying from stuff like SD455 Trans Ams, 428 Cobra Jets, Road Runner 440+6. But I can't afford that kinda stuff, but I've had an '81 Trans Am, last year for the 70s body)). I've had '95 bmw, '00 grand cherokee, my newest car my '99 3000GT, but I love my '79 Camaro to death. Just a simple 350, not mega fast like a 455 or anything, but decent. I like to be classy. Even my slow 301 Trans Am got more attention than any of these new vettes or camaros. I personally don't care for modern wannabe muscle cars. They're all just a fast version of a prius. New cars don't have the quakin' and shakin' that classier cars do.

actually after making that comment i did some quick google search of that track, i guess you do, or at least used to? thats where Scott Kalitta died a few years back because of a short shutdown area. Sadly its tracks like this that made top fuelers race to 1000 feet instead of the full 1320

It's kinda hard to compare muscle cars to imports that have been picked clean of all their weight and tuned,to most likely stock muscle cars ....all the imports that looked nice which probably means not gutted out... lost to the muscle cars
