Every country's past and flag is stained with blood. People tend to forget what a relatively young country we still are and how far we've cone in a few hundred years compared to the thousands of years other countries have had. We have every right to feel proud of our country warts and all.

There is a new version of this with Lee greenwood and the us air force band, personally like that one better. It gives me goosebumps every time I hear it. They also have a great original song, Land of the Free. It is another great 4th of July song, worth a view it is vary patriotic. Home Free did another version of this with the songwriter Lee Greenwood and the US Air Force Singing Sergeants. It’s really good. Adam is crazy good with his drum sounds. I’ve been to Mt. Rushmore and it’s stunning. My Country Tis of Thee, Brothers in Arms, Land of the Free (original).

There is a saying I love, "those who forget history are bound to repeat it." Like you said, I'm not proud of everything this Nation has done, but if I look at my own life, there are things I've done that I'm not proud of. But those things built me into the person I am today. i saw lee greenwood 20 years ago and when he sang this the crowd stood up and lit their lighters. it was wonderful.

When anyone complains about America to me I answer, "Where else in the world can you freely say that? And if its so bad leave, we never lock EXIT doors and we've got millions coming in our southern border than can replace you." Shuts them up really quick.

This is such a beautiful song - you need not be American (I'm Canadian) to appreciate the sentiment and patriotism of it Happy (belated) Independence Day! I'm Canadian and would add that we too, have the same freedoms and opportunities for dreams to become a reality. Everything you said are FACTS!!! You should definitely check out their new version with Lee Greenwood and The USAF Singing Sergents as well as Home Free's original Land of the Free! You will love it. Our family is very military. My grandpa served in WW1 (yes, I'm old), my dad served in the Korean war, my husband served a combined 29 years in USAF and Ks. Air National Guard, one son-in-law served in the army with a tour in Iraq and Afghanistan and our other son-in-law is currently serving in the Ks. Air National Guard. This song ALWAYS makes us teary eyed and gives us chills. We have far more freedoms than people in other countries. We aren't perfect but we've come so far! It drives me crazy when some young people say they hate America. They have no idea the sacrifices that have been made to give them. They the right to say the sh!t they do but that doesn't make it right. Love your channel!!

This is literally the theme song for 4th of July. They would play it at every fireworks and rodeo in WY. Coming from a military family, I think this song is more patriotic than the National Anthem.

I LOVED this video and your entire discussion about our precious and proud country. It reminded me of Dan Vasc who did a tribute video and sang America's Star Spangled Banner. It was a dynamic version as you would expect from him. He received some negative feedback about it. Then he does an apology video. This always makes me cry every time! I think maybe its because I''m an army Brat, my father was a drill Sergeant and my Grampras were in WW2, my brothers were Air Force and Navy, and My X was in Air Force.

My favorite patriotic song is Toby Keith’s Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue.(The Angry American). It’s fantastic!!! There is no better country than The United States of America!!

People who have traveled to other countries, especial military, have seen what other countries are like. Even though we aren't perfect, we still strive to be better than what we are. A theme that I live by is, "I may not love my government from time to tome, but I ALWAYS love my country!" I love my country, what it is, and what its people strive to be. I have never given up on my oath of enlistment. I believe every generation of my family has served. My daughter is serving, after 10 years active duty, she is in the reserves. Her husband is also active duty. Tell your father an old sailor says hello, and Thank you! Glad he made it home. Salute! When this came out, we used to listen to it in the EM club and the Marines would always stand up and sing (loudly).

Never going to get everybody in the US to always agree, except maybe that Lee Greenwood wrote a great song with this. 🇺🇸 You might like Tim’s 2011 song “Land of the Free” that Home Free sings. Their call for unity is “Everybody Walkin’ This Land”.

I, also, am extremely patriotic in the idea of our nation, but not to our current inception of government. I love my fellow brethren no matter race, religion, or creed. Siome of may family are Irish and most people don't knw this but we too were slaves. Years ago in Africa and in America too. People have been slave in all lands The Jews were slave as written in the bible. Right now China has slaves and there are stii slaves in parts of Africa when I read this and here it on LFR's youtube page.

Nothing wrong with having pride for your country, something wrong wwith the negative reactions. Im NZ born with a questionable history against the Mori Ori who were gentle folk compared to Maori who were violent to say the least. 2005 I met a half Maori/Mori Ori who stated that there were only 5 full blooded Mori Ori left in NZ. Even with the murky past many Maori are proud NZers.
