Yes, competition called The Singer. Only for professionally well established singers. Dimash the only non Chinese, was invited as a wild card entry. Organisers heard him sing and thought he'd add to the competition. He came 2nd. It was a govt sponsored program so imagine a Chinese had to win. But Dimash became great friends with other entrants, and was so grateful for the opportunities the show opened up for him. The Chinese loved him so much they immediately spread the word hence his world wide dears base. Dimash had never spoken English b4 this competition, nor Chinese. He sings in 12 languages plays 7 instruments and speaks 4 maybe more now. He has studied all aspects of music not just singing. He composes music, writes lyrics. He may hve just completed his Doctorate. And on top of that. He is such a humble kind and generous person/ Soul. Lovely to see your reaction!!!! Ps. The other people watching are competitors. He is 22 at this point. He has just had his 27th birthday. His voice is still maturing.

He is from Kazakhstan and has been music schooled sense 5 years old and told the teacher that the piano was out of tune! He sings about 6-7 octaves or so! No one knows he is still learning. Dimash Qudaibergen was a last-minute inclusion (a 'dark horse'). But his performance of 'SOS D'un Terrien En Detresse' electrified the audience, his fellow competitors and the viewers who numbered in the billions (this program was one of the most-watched in China and outside). They also got him the nickname "Imported little brother" the day after the show. They also had to get bodyguard for Dimash do to the famous over night both in China and also the world. Dimash wasn’t really prepared for that. He had come to China at 22 years young man by him self and didn’t know the language. He learned this song phonetically. Which in my book makes him all that much more amazing. His English at that time was rudimentary at best. He has a few songs in English and he has improved so much. However it does not matter what language he sings in the result is the same.

Sinful Passions, Autumn Strong, Adagio ,Love is like a dream ( he's great performing this) but know in advance that he DIMASHAFIES ALL to make it his. HELLO, I don't want to be alone anymore, etc Did anyone tell you that his last name translates to, " DONATED by GOD, GIVEN by GOD?" He started training at age 5 & he just turned 27. He still trains hard . Swimming lets him strengthen his diaphragm & lungs which in turn allows him to control his breathing better than anyone I've seen. Yes yes yes this is a singing competition, the one that presented him for the first time in front of big big audiences. He was a wildcard in this show. Non-Chinese competing against Chinese known artists and he blew the country away. By now the whole world knows of him and he has the title of best singer in the world. He mainly does classical music but kinda mixing styles with pop with his voice mainly and poppera (Mix of Opera and Pop you could say), but he has some more poppy songs, you can check his music videos for "Across Endless Dimensions" (Song for a movie that he did) or "Screaming" (His own music, kinda full pop on that one but with Dimash voice). Also if you can consider the list I gave you, even if it is not your preferred genre (Wasn't mine either), it really doesn't matter cause this guy transports you to the point you really don't care about genres anymore. At least I feel this way and most people who studied music seem to think similarly. Thank you for reacting to this song and mentioning me in the video even if as "One person said" haha I loved it!

The people you were seeing were the other contestants. He came in second place. He stayed in China for the next three years. They love Dimashi. The other Contestants were professional musicians. The next year he was on as a judge and a performer instead of contestant. 😊
