"Federmäppchen" (diminutive form of "Federmappe") is a small "pencil case" as shown. "Feder" is German for "quill pen" (can also mean "feather" or "mechanical spring") while "Mappe" is German for a case typically made of leather (can also mean "folder" or "briefcase").

The more people supermarkets employ the more they have to recoup back the cost - how do they do it ? - they pass it onto the customer by increasing their prices.

I guess they could decrease the staffing and decrease the retail price, but increase the taxes to pay for the increase in unemployment!

We do use the metric system, but rulers and tape measures (and thermometers) frequently have double scales in inches and Fahrenheit.

Regarding garbage I thing we do it pretty well. Each house has got 4 bins. One each for paper, organic, plastics and finally one for the rest. The reason is that we try tor recycle as much as possible. The restgarbage usualy is burned and with the resulting energy houses will be heated.

No, we use metric, but sometimes on the other side of the ruler there are Inches or as we called it Zoll. The Federmäppchen ist a Etui a pencil case. The big one they showed is the "Etui", the organized one and one is a "roll" everything rolls around, that is the "Schlaperrolle / Schlampermappe" (sloppy role). The bike is usually sent with the pedals not outside but inside and the handlebars are not in the correct position, so the paket is slim. So you have to fix this. And you could see, he turned the hanflebar the wrong direction. If you buy it a dedicated store on the spot, you get the bikes in perfect shape, and ready to cycle.

Federmäppchen is a form of Schlamperrolle or short Schlamper. The Schlamper is a small bag made of fabric with a zipper for your pencils, a small ruler, maybe scissors and stuff. The Feder means feather and mäppchen is the diminutiv of mappe what translates to different things that can collect pens or even documents. So the feather in Federmäppchen is from Füllfederhalter, or short Füller, a pen with refillable ink. Some hundred years ago people actually wrot with feathers they dipped in ink.

In Germany but also in Austria where I´m from it is common practice, even unasked expected, to take off the shoes when entering someone else´s home - unless - the home owner is explicit telling you to keep them on..Usually there are then "guest slipppers" for them The only ones who are keeping the shoes on are "professional workers" doing a job/service in that home like for instance a plumber, electrician or whoever, simply because they are doing a mess anyway by doing their job/service where you have to clean up afterwards anyway when they are gone after they have finished their job. No you don´t have to built a bike but you have to mount saftey stuff like for instance light reflex gear at the back and on the wheel´s spokes, a bike bell..saftey stuff what isn´t often necessarily mounted on default, some bikes do have those things on default anyway but some bikes don´t BUT those are mandatory for riding bikes on the streets and you´ll can get fined if you don´t have those.

I don´t know, if it is still a thing, but my generation were only allowed fountain pens and pencil until 5th grade, because we were to develope a correct handwriting. And house shoes in school? Only in - what we call - Kindergarten, for kids from age 3 to 6, until they start regular school. But until 7th grade teachers will inform parents about necessary clothing, shoes and other equipment for planed excursions (daytrips nearby and trips for up to 7 days starting in 4th or 5th grade) and the. And these excursions aren´t just about having fun and playing games, but about hiking or other sport activities combined with visiting historical sites or important places. Kids biking : there is still the ´Fahrradschein´ a licence for riding bicycles. Kids at age 9 or tent attend e course, where they learn basic road signs and how to behave in traffic as a bicyclist as well how to perform a correct turn e.g. to the left. All this to make sure, that they are safe when they finally are allowed to drive on the street at age 10.

children often have traffic classes in school. In my primary school - back in the seventies! - we had a small court the size of about 2 tennis courts with mock roads, turns, and traffic signs etc. in which children would learn how to properly signal turns with their hands, where to stop, what to pay attention to etc. My school also had a number of bikes for the children who did not have an own bike, so they, too, could learn the proper road rules. It was fun!

@@americangirlreacts Uncle Fritz was a Joke. We call it "Vater Staat", and I mean it could be very complicated. The tax Rules are a djungle. A Lot of peoples strugle INSIDE. There are a 3 or 2 years period were the tax Office have not to many questions. But than it could be like a Tsunami. And the health Insurance vor the whole Familie did Not Work if you have a own income. I don't know how it works, but I think as a self emploid you can Take a private or a Public Insurance. It could be that you must make contracts for every of your Kids if you have a private Insurance but it depands on the situation.

the channel is called Passport Two. Donnie and Aubrey (and now their baby) live in Rhineland-Palatinate and put out really fun videos every week. One reason for the need to air out our houses is that our houses are solid masonic structures, not wooden structures. If we do not air rooms out, mould can form and make a place unlivable or - at least - rather dangerous to health. A few minutes every day is sufficient, since we can open the windows all the way. May now have moskito screens. I recently renovated my parent’s house and got all new windows, 80% or which I got bug screens for right away…

Please, don't use this plastic stuff for your bins at home. You do not need them. Fill it up without plastic and when they are full, just wash it out! It takes a minute and you will be fine. And the environment as well!!! 😊 Edit: stop using plastic even for a second use. It'll do harm to nature either way!!! Simply stop it. Okay, I am German but isn't it understandable for everyone? Why to harm nature, when it is not necessary ? Please, think about it and go on with recycling or even better with avoiding harmful things to nature. We have only ONE earth!!!!!!!
