Homayoun's father was a master in these types of classical Persian singing. Apparently he trained Homayoun in vocal agility (called Tahrir) since he was six years of age, so he's had lots of practice under the guidance of possibly the best vocalist in this field. The name is "Sanama" which means "oh Idol" which is one way the poets calls their lovers in persian poems. The meaning of the first verse: Oh idol, unite your heart with mine. and then If I don't sacrifice myself you can complain. Sorry my English is not good enough to translate the whole poem. Hello . I am new to your channel,but your reaction video is different from others🙂.I also saw that you played setar which I have always wanted to learn . You asked about the meaning of the poem. It's difficult to understand fully let alone translate moulana ( who i's called Rumi in the west). I can try and explain what I understand and from the interpretations of the the poem by other contemporary scholars . I can only explain the first line since it would be too long otherwise. Ba man sanama del yek dele kon. Sanam: (literally idol.) Usually used to refer to" the beloved. " In Persian poetry. Sanama: o,my beloved. Del: there are two words in Fasri ( Persian) for heart. One is the physical heart( the pump) the other is the metaphysical heart.or the emotions center(like when you say" my heart goes to you" in English.) Del yek ( one) dele kon: make your heart the same as mine ,Be in harmony with me.attune with me. In this case moulana is telling to hessamedin his student that instead of sitting in a silent meditation for forty days( a common meditation) it's best to come to your master and attune your " del" attune with your master's . Ba ( with) man( me) sanama ( my dearest friend)del yek dele kon( be in harmony with my " del"). I know It's a long explanation just for one verse but it's Moulana.
