👨🏽‍🦲ABOUT ME
It's your man, Jeff Thornton, and I'm ready to take you on a journey through my life!
I was born on Holloman Air Force Base, NM, and raised in the beautiful city of Alamogordo, NM.
Growing up as the youngest of six kids, you'd think I'd have it easy, right?
WRONG.
My siblings were always keeping me on my toes, and I wouldn't have had it any other way.
Family has always been my number one priority, and I owe that to my parents, Captain Robert and Dina Thornton, for instilling those values in me from a young age.
Now, let's talk about my love for sports.
From football to hockey, I've always been a natural athlete.
I was even the “Team Captain” for my high school football team, which I'm still proud of to this day.
But let's be real, sports are great and all, but nothing compares to the rush of being transported to a whole new world through video games.
When I was three years old, my sisters and I decided to be helpful and clean our brothers' Nintendo console.
Sounds like a good idea, right
Well, we used WATER.
Needless to say, we destroyed the whole thing.
But that moment taught me something invaluable - gaming is more than just playing a game, it's about bonding with your loved ones over a shared experience.
Video games have been a constant throughout my life, bringing my family together and creating memories that will last a lifetime.
And that's why I'm still a gamer to this day.
It's not just about playing a character in a digital world, it's about the relationships and the community that gaming creates.
So, to all the gamers out there, let's embrace our inner nerd and never let go of that youthful spirit that makes us who we are.
Thanks for tuning in, and much love to you!
- Jeff Thornton, Owner + CEO of QSN

I always remember an older clip of (I think but it’s very hazy) Tim Horan the wallaby centre doing timed sprints and his trainer laughing at the fact that he always clocked better times when running with the ball in hand! Which seems odd because you wouldn’t get the same arm-pumping action, but apparently it’s common.

great video again. tbf that’s his first ever proper 100m so a 10.4 could be improved to almost olympic level/olympic level if he trained and worked hard enough for it probably imo. the natural raw speed is there it could just be refined. maybe not actually I don’t really know how much speed can improve but I mean nothing’s impossible.

' I don’t really know how much speed can improve' it can improve but to be honest LRZ is already training to a high degree - obviously not as a sprinter, but in part for raw speed. the time should be taken with a pinch of salt really - he was under no pressure, indoors, relaxed situation and that was in no way an accurate timed run. In a proper track situation I would suspect he would clock around 10.6-10.8. To be Olympic level he would likely already have broken the Welsh 100m record at school and would need to be running at 10.2 or better - you are not going from 10.4 to 9.8 any time soon - for rugby and NFL though, he has the speed!

As a former top level rugby player that has lived in the US since the mid 90s and follows the NFL regularly (Go Pats). I have one observation, a winger usually gets the ball on the run so final speed may be more important. In the NFL, initial acceleration seems to be more important… would love to see Usain bolt’s 40s time… under NFL rules.

As a Welsh rugby supporter its authentic alright. You could see the speed differential on the occasions where the ball was kicked through and it was a basic foot race to touch it down. He was just yards quicker than others in general. On a couple of occasions guys were trying to let the ball go dead and he'd get to it and score because they didn't realise just how fast he was. As others said I think if he changed his training to just focus on 100m speed and not the endurance elements needed in playing 80 minutes of rugby he could potentially go sub 10 which would put him in elite sprinting circles. Actually perhaps a 200 or 400m might have suited him better. Gutted he's gone to NFL but hoping he has a really successful time there.

Hand-timed makes a huge difference. Doing athletics at school, races were all hand-timed and I remember recording some pretty solid times. Bit of a reality check when I did my first meet that was electronically timed... He's definitely a sub 11s runner, I'd guesstimate 10.6-10.7, but who knows. There will be a crapload of NFL players quicker than him including a few sub 10 runners. If he makes in the NFL it won't be because of his speed, it will be things like agility, ability to beat/evade defenders etc Rugby players that have tried out in the NFL seem to run better lines in some ways that NFL players. For example they seem to have better sidesteps, some running backs don't even step.

Is this rugby players or NFL? DL Metcalf (Seattle Seahawks) ran a 10.3 a few seasons ago in a 'proper' track meet (the Mt. SAC Relays) with almost no sprinter-specific training. Starting blocks, starting gun, etc. The other from the Eagles is probably Devon Allen. He ran the 110m High Hurdles in the Rio Olympics and the 2021 World Championships (got DQ'd in the final by 0.01 seconds for jumping the starting gun). Special teams and practice squad player. even in an advert i doubt very much that LRZ would choose to or allow a false time to be used, a team mate included guessing 10.5 to be seen all over, knowing at some point this would surely be debated/ridiculed in some form, maybe even called out on it down the line. Im sure if they had done so, Usain bolts time wouldve been close to beaten, and the advert made with wink or smile to show the joke, plus, ive watched him tracked by the rugby pundits on tv with speed and distances measured as many of us have, and to be at a game watching and seeing his turn of pace first hand absolutely tells that it is what it is, a time that louis almost certainly made, thats my opinion. Ive watched all possible since he started out there, the man wouldnt have been signed just for being a sprinter, the nfl picks for this year are all top class, all of a real high quality. many think that itself makes zammit having little chance because of the experience these prospects and hard work done to get to being signed. Being a rugby international and one of the fastest in the whole league, at 10.4 the fastest, yet to pad up, gives no advantage and no hope say the haters, but all those coaches then the head coach decided, after his trials to put him as worthy of being signed to the club owners, then together they agree yes.. Ive watched the process the coaching teams go through to pick the very best players available and the owners too, they dont f"@k about, ive no doubt that he will excel as an nfl player. If not theres always a job in the meat factory Merthyr waiting if he needs a few quid 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

He's very fast and has the ability to run a 10.4 if he trained a bit on his track running technique and started from blocks. But without starting out of the blocks and just from a crouched position.. i highly doubt he ran a 10.4. For Rugby players a 10.4 is putting you at no1 in the world for fastest rugby player easily if doing so from a standing start. He probably ran a 10.6-10.8 in this video and that's pushing it. But a 10.6-10.8 from a half standing position for a Rugby Winger is extremely impressive.

He’s clocked 10.44 hand time with no reaction. By someone who I guess has no experience timing sprints. I would imagine with 0.15-0.2 reaction plus fully automatic timing in a race that would be around 10.8/10.9. Still v fast but Tyreek Hill is a way faster athlete. Tyreek recently ran a 6.7 60m whereas I think LRZ would be around 7.0 full electronic timing.
