@@FroggyFroggerAllesRoger I know pispers and he is great. but just because someone is great doesn't mean someone else is not good. mittermeiers prime was about 20 years ago and he was huge at that time. I didn't say more than that and it's a fact, not a joke.

A lot of people will name other comedians. But they all learned from Michael or got inspired by him. I love all the others (the good ones) but he's just another level. Even in English. He's a stage hog (I found this translation for the German word "Rampensau"). There's the story with U2 in Munich 1987 when Bono played two times wrong on the guitar during "People Get Ready" from The Impressions. He asked if anyone in the audience can play guitar. Michael was in front of stage...and he played. You can check the story, it's true. Michael even gave Laudation in 2007 when Bono got an Echo (German equivalent to AMA or Grammy) for his global engagement.

9:29 it is usually the best if someone from a specific group of people does jokes about that group. I had this happen a few times. Last time was in Tokyo this year in a bar with some tourists, I think it was some americans talking about mexico if I remember correctly...It was like 3 AM and usually topics tend to go to political stuff xD. I was on the toilet and heard them talking, I came out and I just told them...Look guys, a word of advice from a german...Doesn't matter how bad you feel about your neighboring country...Don't invade them, it just doesn't go well. One guy almost choked on his beer xD

Just know that his THICK accent speaking english is even THICKER when speaking german. The poor guy is bavarian. 🤣

If you enjoy dark, German comedy, you might want to check out Volker Pispers. He does mostly political comedy and most of it is about Germany, so unless you're familiar with German politics, a lot of his programs won't make too much sense, but he had a piece about the 9/11 attacks and a very thorough analysis thereof. It's in German, like all he does, but someone put it up on KZfaq with English subtitles (easy to find if you look for Pispers, 9/11 and English).

He is, or at least was, considered to be the best german comedian. And his family name would be pronounced in english like Mettirmyer. Does he really have such a heavy accent to you? But I have to admit tha if I hear some people like from Texas speaking in their slang in a video, I also have a hard time to understand a single word.

He is from Bavaria and he also speaks with a heavy bavarian accent in german, so sometimes, for the rest of Germany, it's also hard to understand him. :D If you can find it, try some Torsten Sträter, for me, he's the besten German comedian we have right now. There is also Jochen Malmsheimer, but his humor comes from words and wordplays, and i don't think, that you can translate them properly.

Not to complain too much... but why do americans always pronounce the german "ei" like that? If it was "ie" it would be correct but "ei" is pronounced more like "eye" or "aye" in english. so try MittermAYEr.

No worries about his accent. It is not just german accent, but with a strong accent from bavaria/german. I am german myself and i do not understand him, when he is speaking german. 😂 German with bavarian accent is no real german. It is a disease.
