It must have been incredible for Freddie of all artists to have such a wonderful interaction with this huge crowd. The UK puts on massive concerts, we also sing along, but to sing in a foreign language, word perfect, shows how much this crowd loved Queen. Cannot imagine that feeling, only a handful of true real stars ever will, not today’s Z list celebs, real stars made from years of hard work touring.

This was in Rio Brazil. Queen was the first major rock band to tour South America. Freddie and Brian were shocked as this was the first time this had happened and they didn’t think the crowd could understand. But the crowd sang the song perfectly and chanted Brian at his guitar solo part. Amazing. Queen had such magic.

Rock in Rio is a festival, 1985 was the first, with 10 days, I had been there singing together with Fred Mercury, I had the opoortunity to see a snake on Fred's neck..lol...250 000 people were there at this day , here in Brazil we study English Language and many teachers love to teach english with musics, movies, shows....I'll never forget this concert because was my 20th bairthday...The biggest crowd ever Rock in Rio and Queen...very cute this video.. keep doing this great job.

The best in this show was that this song wasn't THAT popular, but in rock in rio we yelled a lot, sang it all with all passion we had and so the world turned into in a hit!!!!!! Freddie said that some times and we're proud of it till today. ♥️

Este show não é apenas um show. Ele é nada mais e nada menos que o primeiro Rock n Rio em 1985. Eu era adolescente. A maioria dos jovens dessa época queria estar aí cantando também. Como eu era adolescente, não pude ir. Sei de alguns que foram sem poder mesmo. Dando um jeito qualquer. Dormindo as noites na praia mesmo. Deixando até os pais preocupados. Então precisavam fazer valer apena todo sacrifício de estarem aí. Este momento representa para muitos de nós fãs, entre outras coisas um grande divisor de águas nas interações do público com seus ídolos da música. Existe o antes e o depois dele. Antes dele a interação já era grande, mas os shows, nem tanto quanto o Rock n Rio. Durante e depois dele o público brasileiro pode mostrar como gosta de interagir calorosamente com seus ídolos O Queen foi o primeiro a subir a esse nível. A música Love of my life ainda era bem atual. Por isso eternizou-se. Muitos que estão ai no show, são hoje pais, mães, avôs, avós, tios, parentes mais distantes ou simplesmente amigos de quem vai aos shows atualmente. Gerou uma certa herança cultural. Então cada um de nós hoje nos sentimos na obrigação de honra-los e segui-los reagindo como fizeram em 1985. Esse é meu resumo bem grotesco dessa história. Além disso, recomendo que você assista e reaja também ao segundo momento dessa mesma história, pois nesse ultimo Rock n Rio o público compensou a ausência do Fred Mercury cantando ao violão com o Brian May, este mesmo que toca ao violão e é também aclamado no primeiro show de 1985. Hoje, quando vejo em retrospectiva o público gritando Brian, sinto que era um presságio do que o futuro nos reservaria. Pois Fred deixou a cena no primeiro show e Brian ao violão com seu público. E agora o Brian fez um novo show apenas com o público e homenageou o Fred. Então, essa história se torna cada vez mais interessante e linda. Espero que goste do que eu compartilhei aqui com vocês. É apenas a visão que tenho do angulo em que me encontro nessa história. Glad that you enjoy this video. My dad was there in Rio at this historic concert. He told me it was a two days event which the 1st. night close to 450K fans and the 2nd. night 250K fans. The best part was these fans don't speak English sang beautifully like the way Freddie would wanted. I am 61 years young and a true Queen's fan til the End.

But you're right- he did not care what people thought about him in that setting. He did as he pleased and made Billions of people smile, laugh and cry. He could sing anything, from opera to soft ballads to thrash metal. He was / is a rock ICON. Queen isn't just a band name- in their case they are rock royalty!

This performance was either the very first festival held or may have been the 2nd night. In any case it was the first 2 nights of the festival in 1985,, with 700,000 people in attendance.the first of many, this festival still carries on today and had since branched out to other places including Lisbon, Madrid, Las Vegas and Santiago De Chile. Rock In Rio 2022 will be held in Brazil, Portugal and Chile
